*Price drop, now £450 delivered* For sale (no trade offers please) is a Fender Mexican (MIM) Precision bass in lovely Lake Placid Blue with maple neck, in a mint condition Fender hard case. Long scale, right handed. It has a 2013 serial number, but according to Fender's serial number check, it was registered in 2014. I've read that the quality of MIM Fender basses improved a fair bit post 2008, then again in 2012. This certainly seems to be the case to me. This is a rock solid P bass, with a really nice & fairly slim neck. I've only had this a few weeks, and only selling as I was very naughty and bought another bass before this had even arrived & have decided to keep that one. If that hadn't come up, I'd have happily kept this one, but alas I have to let it go. The bass came to me with a pair of nice upgrades, in the form of Seymour Duncan pickups (possibly Quarter Pounders, I haven't had the plate off to check), and what I think is a Hipshot Kickass hi-mass bridge with adjustable string spacing. It has a lovely gloss maple fingerboard & headstock, with a nice fast satin urethane finish on the back of the neck. It is a relatively slim, very playable P bass neck, with a front to back thickness (measured with calipers) at the 1st fret of 0.820 inches, and at the 12th fret of 0.893 inches. Usual P nut width of 1.625 inches. It weighs 4.1Kg (9lbs) on my digital luggage scales and balances well. Stock open gear tuners, strung with unknown nickel roundwounds with life left in them. Excellent condition, with only minor wear / small knock marks consistent with age, no deep dings or chunks missing, only paint removed is a small knock of 1cm around the bridge strap button, and there are a couple of tiny knocks on the underside of the headstock. The case is a quality, well padded mint condition Fender 'Pro series bass case' with tag still attached & keys present, and a decent sized open pocket for cables, etc. Lake Placid Blue is one of those colours I think looks better in person, there was sunlight coming in when I took the photos, it's not quite as bright and shiny up close. Now £2000 with free mainland UK shipping I may live to regret this but up for sale is my Vigier Passion IV (2020). What is there to say about these basses. They have a very loyal and passionate (pun intended) following here on Basschat, and with very good reason. The proprietary pickups in their ‘bridge-biased’ position provide untold amounts of punch. The 3-band preamp also gives you access to a huge amount of different tones, so chances are that whatever style of music you’re playing you’ll find the right sound here. This bass cuts through the mix like no-one’s business, is super comfortable to play and has the best finish of any instrument I’ve laid my hands on. There are a couple of slightly uncommon features on this bass that are also worth highlighting. The first is that there is no truss rod. This is because the neck is made from phenowood – that is, wood injected with a phenolic resin which means that the neck doesn’t move as a result of temperature or environment changes. So no more worrying about bowed necks or fiddly setups! The other cool feature is the locking input jack. Once your cable is plugged in it’s not going anywhere, so you’re unlikely to suffer from loose connections or accidentally pulling your cable out mid-set. I'm moving to 32" scale basses due to a bit of arthritis creeping in. All my standard scale basses are going and this is the last of the 3 Bass Collections I own(ed). By far the nicest and in fantastic condition. It's an SB315, I believe and serial number is 912992 making it a 1991 build. I've replaced the pre-amp with a Glockenklang 2 band and had an external battery box fitted at the same time. I've still got the original pre-amp and knobs but the Glock is a country mile better than the stock electronics. It's in stunning condition for a 31 year old bass with just a couple of small dings that are difficult to spot and photograph..

May live to regret selling it? I think you’ll definitely regret it.

Up for sale is my lovely Ray special.....the bass has no chips, dents or scratches and is in beautiful condition bar a small scratch on the E string tuner key...the bass features a roasted maple neck and fingerboard and a nicely figured natural 2 piece swamp ash body, yes there are more snazzy colours, etc, but they have to use quality wood for a natural finish!.....Bass weighs in at 7.9 lbs......Will come with a hard Musicman case (a few marks on the case)......Will include UK shipping in with the price (this will be at the buyers risk but rest assured it will be well packed for shipping), alternatively you could arrange your own courier if preferred.
