EMG 9 volt active pickups and aguilar obp2 preamp Spec- Weight 8.1 lbs At the winter NAMM 2014 Spector © debuted the first of its Helium™ Series, NS™ and Forte™ basses. These instruments utilise a unique combination of woods to achieve a great sounding bass with low weight. The top of this neck thru body instruments wings are carved from quarter sawn sycamore obtained from salvaged logs of trees which have blown down in our local forests near Woodstock NY. The back of the body wings is reclaimed redwood that was originally harvested in California between 75 and 100 years ago and used for the construction of water tanks which are sited on top of office buildings in NYC. They have been filled with the purest NYC drinking water for all those years which continuously permeates the redwood. This soaking with the water helps to wash out all of the sugar in the cells of the wood so that it dries more completely and in a similar way to the method used traditionally for curing violin wood in Europe. The final Helium™ element is a Spector © locking bridge made of aluminium with brass saddles. The instruments possess a full warm bottom end with a unique bloom to the attack of the notes. This construction is available in our USA NS Neck-Thru Series™ in our GrayBurst color in either matte or gloss finish, and also in our USA Forte Series™ basses in our trans black stain matte finish. SOLD Pedulla Pentabuzz in aqua/turquoise burst Really in two minds about this, but just not getting played. For me the best fretless basses out there and since the retirement of Mr Pedulla and the closure of the workshop they are becoming a little scarce. Beautiful to play with a fantastic range of tones, if you’re after ultimate mwah then this is it. Stunning finish changing from blue to green depending on the light. ***No longer for sale. Keeping it*** edit: I have unexpectedly come across the certificate of authenticity, owners manual etc while sorting through things after my house move. Pics attached. 1996 G&L L-5500 bass with G&L hard case. Ash body with quartersawn maple neck with graphite reinforcement and rosewood fingerboard. G&L saddle lock bridge and G&L tuners. This model was produced in small numbers in the mid 90s while G&L were getting their 5 string MFD pups ready for the L-2500 and was the model which corrected a lot of the shortcomings of the previous L-5000 (narrow nut width and tight string spacing) This bass has EMG dual coil pickups (iirc EMG40 DC )and EMG BTC active circuit with 2 band EQ. This pickup/preamp gives the bass a very clear sound which suits a wide variety of genres. The plastic on the knobs is starting to perish slightly in places and the pots could do with a quick spray of electrical contact cleaner. Condition wise, there is tarnishing on the neck plate as pictured,there is some buckle rash and some crazing in the finish on the back of the bass though front is very clean apart from a couple of areas which have slightly dulled when viewed from certain angles. Overall in very good condition for a bass now a quarter of a century old. A peculiar oddity is that at some point the pan pot has been changed to be the wrong way round. Not sure of the thinking behind this but like the Sadowsky way of wiring the blend control, I guess it’s retraining your brain into thinking that turning it on full clockwise brings on more mids and bite for soloing etc. Anyway it’s illogical imo but I haven’t got round to having it changed. the bass weighs just over 11lbs so fairly substantial as they all were. Bass can be auditioned in Market Drayton, Shropshire or could possibly meet Stoke, Crewe, Telford, Shrewsbury areas or depending where you are. I’ve just used my last shipping box so posting could be a problem at the moment. (Always regretted letting the first one go) Only problem is that I now have a lead on my bucket list bass and I need to sell something to get it. Otherwise there’s no way I would even entertain this going. Swamp ash body finished in translucent white finish. Contoured heel and narrow radius chamfer on body edge. Bound maple neck with blocks. Hipshot hardware. Aguilar single coil pickups with Sadowsky preamp with VTC (vintage tone control) for passive tone + active bass and treble. Superb, pro instrument put together by ex Sadowsky employee Nino Valenti. Balance is perfect, very light, great sounding pickups with a studio grade pre amp which sounds classy. Effortless to play. Action can be gotten stupidly low if you want. No structural, electronics or playability issues with the bass. Comes with gig bag. Valenti’s price list now shows a Modern 21 fret J bass price starting at $2800. I believe the bound and blocked neck, trans white finish and Sadowsky pre amp are chargeable upgrades on this base price. Edit: a couple of points of note 1. The pickup covers have hairline cracks in them from being over tightened by previous user. This is purely cosmetic and I will either fit replacement covers or adjust the price slightly. 2. I had the blend pot re wired for normal operation. Full clockwise for neck and full off for bridge. Sadowsky have theirs back to front so that turning it full on gives the bridge pickup and more mids. I couldn’t get on with it like that as it was too illogical so it has been re-wired by my tech back to what my brain can comfortably deal with.

In excellent condition. It's taken me two years to take the plunge on this, as it's easily the better of the two fivers I own, and a perfect fit with my BB2024. The other fiver has needed some fettling so gathered more emotional investment, and to be honest I rarely need to use either of them. As a consequence this has not got a single ding or dent. Of course there are some light surface marks that black guitars acquire if you just look at them in the wrong way. Price includes a near-new condition Yamaha gig bag. If delivery is required I have a Yamaha hard shell case that came with my 2024 that I could be persuaded to part with. I'm travelling north next week, maybe as far as Dundee, and could bring it with me. Any questions? Just ask.

Twin humbuckers with five way switch and three band active EQ, Fender deluxe tuners and Fender high mass bridge. Compound radius fingerboard with carbon graphite rods in neck. Comes with Fender case. No structural,electronics or playability issues. Couple of small marks on the back and a couple on the side, some light scratching in places visible from certain angles. Some light buckle rash on back. Pickguard has the usual scratch marks. Really beautifully crafted basses - fit and finish is just superb. Really well thought-through too. Viv has clearly paid attention to every detail in the design and production of these instruments. Ergonomics are lovely (certainly on the short-scales - I acquired one a few weeks ago) and the range of tones is really surprising for a passive bass: all very useable too. The finishing is undertaken by Bow as far as I'm aware - certainly my favourite of the UK finishing shops (glass-like and again, fantastic attention to detail). GLWTS and I'm surprised that this is still around - Viv's basses appear to be gaining some serious traction in the US market with a number of big names on the user list
