msb Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Acinonyx quickly sold. It was a good price. I was seriously tempted , it wasn’t me. Now with that out of the road there’s nothing I really need. 3 Quote
NancyJohnson Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Looking at my gear ins/outs this year (so far) and am treating it more as an exercise in trying to keep in the black. Currently at about £75 in the red. Quote
mikebass456 Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I'm out now! Recent acoustic folk band rehearsals revealed that my Phil Jones Double 4 just didn't quite have the capacity against an acoustic drum kit. As a result, I borrowed a DB Hype 8 last week to try as a replacement, and it worked great. Pressed the go buy button the following day and it arrived yesterday. Looking forward to the gigs at the end of the month a lot more now..... 2 Quote

msb Posted Monday at 17:49 Posted Monday at 17:49 I’ve always been one that’s rarely used a stand on the gig , I usually bring a backup bass. So they lean against my amp , or the wall. Every once in a while one takes a tumble. Never gave that any thought when I was using Fenders or Danos , these days I tend to play Gretsches and Gibsons that can snap with a fall. … so I bought a folding stand that holds three instruments. I might be out. I did hold off until one popped up on kijiji for about half the price of a new one. It’s the folding metal tube style with rubber padding. The seller said it never left his house. Looks new. I do think it was long overdue. 1 Quote

Stub Mandrel Posted Monday at 23:01 Posted Monday at 23:01 I was flirting with the idea of an economical double bass that's on here at the moment. My SO was not amused... hmmm. EUBs... 1 Quote
Richard R Posted Tuesday at 05:33 Author Posted Tuesday at 05:33 I don't think there is such a thing as an economical double bass, is there? 1 Quote

A pair of them in a Fusion twin Uke gigbag and my small pedalboard is all that's going to the gig on Saturday night.....😎👍 1 Quote
Richard R Posted Tuesday at 20:07 Author Posted Tuesday at 20:07 (edited) I was just thinking "I wonder if you could make an inflatable double bass?", and then realised what a completely stupid idea this is on just about every level.
