:SOLD: 1960 Silvertone 1444 dolphin nose Bass All original Single-coil lipstick pickup, 30” short scale neck, A thick Brazilian rosewood 24 fret fingerboard, Semi-hollow Masonite body, Single 4 post Danelectro "Skate Key" Tuning Machines. These are the ones used on higher-end model guitars from 1958 to 1969. They are in good working order. It even has the headstock logo which is very rare! Retro heaven! Superb playing and sounding very usable bass made by Danelectro for Sears department stores USA. I bought this little beauty for a 1950/60`s theatre show that due to all the Covid shite has been abandoned. It`s far too good to sit around so here it is up for grabs to some lucky person. It`s in lovely condition for a 61yr old instrument. There is one small ingenious mod to the bridge that is easily removed, It just keeps the ball ends in nice and snug to the bridge as shown in pics. This really is a must have for anyone playing Rock and Roll or sixties retro music! Although saying that this little cracker can handle any genre (it even slaps). Comes with an old but non original hard case. Open to sensible offers........6 points

Oxygen and the air pressure are always being monitored. In the event of a decompression, an oxygen mask will automatically appear in front of you. To start the flow of oxygen, pull the mask towards you. Place it firmly over your nose and mouth, secure the elastic band behind your head, and breathe normally.5 points

Spector Spectorcore with chambered maple topped body weighing 3.5kg and a lined ebony fingerboard, 35” scale. Amberburst gloss finish. EMG pickup and Fishman piezo bridge. Strung with LaBella low tension flats. Good condition, one screw missing on back access plate, it broke early on and the plate is marked where I had get the screw out. See photo. Would consider a trade for a reasonably lightweight Precision, not necessarily Fender, either fretted or fretless 4 string preferred but not necessarily. Open to suggestions.4 points

Guitar now SOLD !, 26 Sep 2021 Thanks to all who've expressed interest 😉 Neck date of late Dec 1982 Fender Jazz Bass, 3 Colour Sunburst Finish (62 Vintage Model), serial V003173. Weighs in at 9.5lbs and is in nice condition apart from a few minor lacquer blemishes on the back of the neck. Comes with a hard case (not Fender) and was recently authenticated, tested and valued by Andertons in Guildford where I bought it from in the early 90s. It's hardly been used in the last 20 years due to increasing neuropathy in my left hand 🥵. It's priced to be mid range of the valuation given by Andertons, so no daft low bids please ! Also please expect extra £30+/- for courier to UK or £75 +/- for overseas. This is a private sale.4 points

I've always been a fan of Faith No More and Billy Goulds bass is a big part of their sound so I'd love to have his signature Zon4 points

Unfortunately I missed the courier on Friday, as otherwise I'd have gigged this on Saturday. A quick check out shows it's rather loud in the house. Some experimenting is called for as there are a wide range of tone control options (never a good idea with me). There's also facilities to use the array of 24 LEDs as a VU meter (4 modes) or a tuner. Initial impression of the sound is very clean, with plenty of depth. There's a Deep and a Bright switch for that smiley face sound, and the Antoniotsai (which has Barts and a Delano Sonar preamp, set flat) sounded great on that with the amp tone controls somewhere round flat. And a few hours later, the Big Baby 2 was gone - a good cab and very lightweight, but not as lightweight as the GR. One minor point - the GR has the amp tucked in the back, balancing the speaker at the front, so the handle is in the middle for correct balance. The BB2 obviously has a speaker on the front panel but nothing to balance that on the rear, so the handle is asymmetric, closer to the front of the cab than the back. I didn't measure the distance from the front for each, but I suspect the GR's handle is a tiny bit further away from the front than the BB2's.3 points

Lovely American Special P bass, that was converted to fretless with a thick slab of ebony by a previous owner. Finish is the ‘hand-rubbed’ nitro satin honeyburst, that I believe there was only a short run of for Guitar Center in the US. The fretless mod was done (I think) by Brook guitars in Devon (that’s from memory - could be wrong). It was done really nicely, onto the original neck, even preserving the original nut. As well as that mod, I’ve done a bunch of upgrades, to try and get it close the Tony Franklin signature fretless. It now has a Hipshot Kickass bridge, Hipshot USA Ultralite tuners, a Jazz pickup, DiMarzio DP126 pickup set (that’s the Model P and Model J - Tony has the Model J in his original I think) and Dunlop strap locks. It has the original volume and tone (tone is Greasebucket as far as I know, which I really like), plus a 3 way switch for either pickup or both - again functionally the same as the 3 way slider on the TF. All work done by Chris McIntyre here in Edinburgh, so top quality. I don’t have the weight right now - will add later - but it’s not heavy. Around 9lbs I think. I’m told the body is 1.8” thinner than a usual P, plus obviously I have the Ultralites on there, which also means it balances perfectly on a strap now. Good opportunity to get something very close to the Tony Franklin signature fretless P bass, for a fraction of the price, in a great finish. It has a few little marks on the body (that finish makes it a bit easier for that to happen - can do closeups for anyone interested, plus a bit of wear and 1 scratch on the scratchplate (that is what they’re for eh?) - but condition excellent other than that. Neck is immaculate. Only selling as I have a case of GAS for something else. In an ideal world I’d have both!3 points

This is a fantastic work bass with white front and side LEDs . It has a 3 band Glock preamp and standard string space. It's a Matt white which is really nice. There are no dings there are one or two faded spots size of a 5p but it is hardly noticeable. Nice low action and nice player. No trades please just looking for a sale and collect. It comes in a abs case also in good condition.3 points

Elevate the cab, or at the very least tilt it back so you're on the driver axis. Adding a 410 to a 115 seldom works well, as most 115s can't keep up with a 410. 90% of the time you'll get the best results with two identical cabs.3 points

Fight! The OC-5 wins on tracking and the solo vintage setting -1 Octave. The MXR 'growl' sounds close, but like it has a sore throat, but it also has the mid boost button and the 'girth' voice and perhaps sounds a bit better for subtle mild octave mixed in whereas the OC-5 is better for full-on stuff.3 points

A little guitar emporium has opened up right at the top of my street! This little beauty is in the window, I certainly like the look of it and thought I'd consult the BC hive mind before Googling it. I love the look of it but have never heard of a Hagstrom Swede bass before. I'm going to page @Bassassin because... well, because it's the done thing. 😀2 points

Warwick Streamer $$ 4 String Double Buck. Taken recently in trade, nice bass but I want/need to move a couple of basses along still. Great basses these and more attractive in my view and less common than the Corvette shaped $$. Dates from 2006, good condition, a small chip on the underside of the 5th fret area and some fairly minor scars on the back of the neck. Some signs of wear and the odd minor mark / blemish on the body of the bass, commensurate with a 15 year old bass. A nice, clean bass, currently set with a lovely easy playing low action. Double humbucker design, incredible amount of sound options available from this bass - covers pretty much any style with the coil switching for each pickup: serial, parallel and single coil, and all the variations / permutations of this. Specifications: Bolt-on Neck Design US Swamp Ash Maple neck Wenge fingerboard Scale length: 34" (long scale) 24 frets Passive MEC MM-style humbuckers with large open pole pieces, coil switching for each pickup: serial, parallel and single coil Active MEC 2-band electronics Finishes: Natural oil finish and colored oil finish Warwick tuners 2-piece Warwick bridge. Please message me for any other details / photographs etc. £800 - plus £30 shipping mainland UK. Now £799 including shipping mainland UK.2 points

I borrowed it for a song at the opening jam at last weekends Blues festival in Wotton under Edge. I can attest to the fact that it plays beautifully! I had assumed that it was some really expensive Fender when I first put it on, and whilst attempting to not look stupid in front of an audience for the first time in four years, but when I handed it back I noticed the head stock..... If I ever need a replacement for my 30 year old MIJ Pbass I would definitely buy one!2 points

The 414 is very good, and it’s got a single action truss rod I believe, which failed on mine, the 1024 which I’ve got now has a double action one which I think is a good improvement, apart from that I would definitely have another2 points

1. (Pedant alert) it’s impedance, not ohmage 2. A 4x10 will be louder than a 1x15 most likely. The impedance doesn’t really make much difference. Bill Fitzmaurice made a good point in another thread recently about “getting the maximum from an amp” - I’ll see if I can find it.2 points

I wanted a Jaco signature fretless but preferred the refurbed bass of doom. I was looking at the Fender Artist series and realised I could get an Overwater for not much more. It’s closer to my preferences than the bass of doom, but it’s been inspired by it.2 points

I suspect a 70s Matsumoku Ripper copy. Most common badged Aria but no-brand ones would've existed, like with pretty much any Japanese copy. Think I've seen these branded Kimbara too. Shame you didn't ask the BC Hive Mind before writing it off as crap & parting it out, tbh, would have been a nice & pretty straightforward looking resto project, & worth a few quid these days too. https://reverb.com/uk/item/6350520-aria-pro-ii-lb-650-ripper-bass-natural-1970s2 points

It's a ruby red 4003s, heavily customised. I swapped out the white pickguard / TRC for black and removed that awful pickup cover. Other than that I added the zero mod thumb rest and put a racing stipe on it. The strings are neon red but the camera snap doesn't do them justice. I know there's not a lot of Ric love on BC but it's a great bass.2 points

If it's a decent, accurate clone, his sales definitely will be. Tbf new DG kit is premium priced, no question. The question is then which of us have had a problem buying either Mooer or Behringer clones? Or a Sandberg clone of a Fender body design or a Warwick clone of Spector etc? At least these guys are being open and honest that their product is a rip-off rather than pretending that it's not.2 points
