  1. In the last 5 years I've only seen 2 like this for sale. 100% original down to the last screw and in wonderful condition. Amazing neck. Really great growl. 9lbs 10oz in weight so not stupid heavy..... Viewing welcome and recommended. Very collectable bass. Plenty of photos available of all the pots et cetera, on request. Never thought I'd sell this but you all know how it goes sometimes. Any questions or further requests, fire away/ Based in sunny Swindon. SN14LW Anybody welcome to come over and have a play and behold this serious instrument. I'd be happy to take a couple of instalments for the bass, if that helps. Tradewise, I’m gassing for a Rickenbacker....... Happy viewing,

  3. Played the first gig with my new band tonight,my first gig in 10 years! We only played for 20 minutes opening a charity boxe event, in front of about 200 people. During our second song my bass strap fell off and somehow I managed not to let the bass fall. Apart for that and too many mistakes, I guess it went well. Looking forward to the next.

  4. It has an Eminence Deltalite II 2512 driver (120 quid at Blue Aran), which is what most makers use in their price point neo loaded cabs, so yes, the price is insane, even in the US, where the street price is $799.

  5. Haha yep, it’s 25Kg with the amp. Paul from zilla just got back to me, it’s complete and he’s done an excellent job; the oval window on the front looks excellent in tolex, and he’s put a good sized square window out back too. The V8 style 3-handle arrangement looks perfect! Now all I have to do is touch up the black paint on the head in a couple of places, mount the V4 badge on the front grille and she’s ready for some action again thanks for your help on here guys, much appreciated.

  6. You could just cover the Markbass steel grills with speaker cloth of your choice. It'd be far cheaper than changing cabs - unless you're looking for an excuse to change? Frank.

  9. At the LBGS I looked at their prices and laughed. £1750 for a 4x10?!! Which was 5 times more than the Peavey 4x10 a couple of stalls down. Their pedal prices were beyond stupid as well. It makes Westside Distribution price gouging us on Mesa gear look reasonable. Pfft. Jog on.

  11. They're aware. Aguilar is a small company, with a business model of selling small numbers of high priced goods rather than larger numbers of lower priced goods. They price their gear with the intent of attracting those who perceive high prices to equate with high quality, and there's no shortage of those. This cab won't work any better than one of the dozen or more other cabs using the same 2512 driver that sell for as little as half what the Aggie does, but so long as Aggie customers are willing to pay their prices they'll keep charging those prices. Can't say I blame them.

  13. It is with deep regret that my beloved 78p is up for sale. This bass is simply awesome, she's all original bar a tiny drill hole in the scratch plate where someone fitted a 'kill switch'. Lovely flamed maple on the neck with plenty of fret life and she plays and sounds superb. Comes with non original Fender case. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xmc6i8a50yklw11/AAAga46J7VfYxhl9mHGbi47xa?dl=0

  15. Hello guys, I’m selling this piece of beauty. Warwick build this bass specially for me under my specification. It’s a unique bass with a powerful sound and has performed great at higher pro levels. Here you can watch a video-demo that I arranged for it so you can check her capabilities. It’s a very versatile bass and by the way, it’s a gorgeous finish!!! It has an scratch on the side because of the screws of the strap (see the pic), otherwise is perfect. I later installed an Aguilar OBP-2 preamp and EMG active pickups, a combination that I like a lot and that suits this bass perfectly. In this link you can check the specifications that Warwick used to build this bass: http://www.warwick.de/en/Warwick---Products--Instruments--Customshop---Masterbuilt--Basic-Bass-Models--Streamer--Streamer-Stage-I--Streamer-Stage-I-4-String--Streamer-Stage-I---14-2734--4-string--Pictures.html I told the guys on the Custom Shop to build after this customizations: * Ying-Yang inlays * D-Tuner * P style inverted pickups (as an a regular P bass, more room for slap pluck) * Ocean Blue Oil Finish In this video I play it, and besides it’s a “fake live”, the bass on the audio track is exactly this. In fact, I recorded several of the Powafunk album tracks with her. The instrument is located in Barcelona. Price doesn’t include shipping. The price of this bass is unbeatable and right now I'm not thinking on trading it, unless someone consider trading a USA MTD 535-24 plus money from my side. Payment through PayPal or cash if I meet you in person. Thanks and see you around!

  16. Well, the long-awaited update to the most recent Zoom multi-effects (G5n, G3n, B3n) has finally happened in conjunction with a total overhaul of their companion editor/librarian, GuitarLab. The original GuitarLab software editor was so feature poor that it was almost embarrassing, and Zoom users have been waiting for them to produce a REAL editor for these effects pedals. Well, it's here now, and it's a solid offering. https://www.zoom.co.jp/news/GuitarLab_v3 Zoom also used the opportunity to add some new items to the B3n in addition to an entirely new firmware release (2.0):

  21. If you can do fret work, you can do nut work. Just be patient when filing, because if you over do it and the slots are too deep you'll need to do it again. But it's easy. Plenty of videos on youtube will help you. It doesn't take long either.

  22. Yes - you need to either find a smaller grubscrew or file the other end down a bit so it doesn't stick out further than the bearing. Or, assuming it is a 1/2" bearing and 1/4" shank, pm me your address and I'll send you a collet with a flush grubscrew. Got one here from an old bit.

  23. Don’t you hate it when sites put and estimated shipping date based on nothing! So far there is no update from U.K. distributor and I have asked. A lot. Tech 21 mentioned on instagram they have a consignment for U.K. “next month” I suspect it will be soon. They always suggested April as a shipping date, they just made that with US release. I’m sure it’s been a busy, tiring and stressful time for all at tech 21 which echoes in their comments here. I’m sure they have been balls out to make the release date and are touchy if people start picking apart a product they are working hard to release. (Not saying we did but just feel they think that from the response) anywayyyy, it sounds great and should be here soon. The distributor gets product through customs pretty fast and when they arrive they will get them out quickly as they will want to invoice everyone after all! We should all see them around the same time. As soon as I receive them, aside from rolling around on the bed with them, I’ll ship them out to you and let you know. 10th May is, I reckon a guess, but possibly not unrealistic.

  25. Had a tiny bit of GAS for an IGB for a while - I'll take 5 at £25 a pop - cheers! Can't shed a great deal of light on this - my Aria Awareness is peripheral to my MIJ fixation & this one, as it says, is Korean. MIJ IGBs are like hen's teeth. BUT - as far as I know, the S prefix should indicate Samick as the manufacturer - and a quick Goog suggests that this is probably from May 1996: http://samick.wikia.com/wiki/Serial_Numbers Hope this helps.

  26. Played in a fairly big pub in NW London last night - I've been off for a month and was looking forward to it. Weird sound in there as it was a big echoey wooden layout and you play upstairs above another bar on a wooden floor. The bass was disappearing - couldnt hear myself 5 feet away, couldn't hear me 15 feet away and the bloke on the leather settee 25 feet away said it was making his derrière shake! Its one for my Gramma pad next time.... Turned out a really good night - the staff loved us, the crowd were going bonkers from the off and didn't stop for 2.5 hours, we got to use the hazer and lasers without setting any alarms off (even though they had smoke alarms nearby) so it looked impressive, we got a couple of rebooks to fill our last remaining dates for this year and a guaranteed 4 gigs next year. Everyone had a fab night it seems. And the strangest thing? They said we were too cheap!!! We don't go out for less than £250 which is pretty typical around here for pubs - we did this one for more than that anyway and they said that the rebooks and next years will pay significantly more again. Need to find us some more of these ones i reckon :-)

  39. You have been spoiled! Most preamps have no low battery warning. Some just go dead and can leave you high and dry mid-song. With others the sound quality deteriorates shortly before it dies. Either way always have a spare battery to hand! I put a bit of masking tape on the battery cover and mark the date when the battery was last changed. That at least gives me some idea of when the next change is going to be due. If you have (or can add) an active/passive switching option so much the better.

  41. When I saw The Who at Wembley Arena not long before Entwistle died, Townshend went off on one about something gloomy. Being slightly refreshed I yelled out 'F**k off, Pete, you're such a miserable c**t'. In fairness to him he laughed and gave it a rest.

  42. Quite so. Couple years ago, I'm down at an open mic (as a punter) and these three guys plumped themselves down on a sofa (it was that kind of boozer) pulled out their phones and settled down to text their friends and view web-pages and whatnot. For a good quarter hour they exchanged not a word between themselves. To my fascinated disbelief, even their pints remained untouched. Utterly bizarre behaviour (to me) but actively disrespectful to the performers? Not really; they were just socially-atomised numpties doing what socially-atomised numpties do. They might as well have been walking the dog or sat at home with the missus or halfway up Everest in a blizzard, they wouldn't have known or cared as long as they had their digital pacifiers in their sticky little hands. On the other hand I have attended any number of gigs where an audience member has chosen a lull in proceedings loudly to observe that the band is f$cking sh1te and they can all f$ck off and die. That's disrespectful though sometimes quite funny if the band in question is f$cking sh1te and don't know it.

  43. Seriously basic and old school rig for a Ceilidh last night. Gear4Music precision copy, Carlsbro X100 PA head and a Carlsbro A112 PA cabinet. Sounds OK for occasional use and has the upside of the total rig having cost about £60 Andy

  45. Six digit serial numbers date from the 70s, covering '71 through '80. Seven digit serial numbers date from the 80s, covering the period '81 through '90. The first digit gives the year. Yours is a seven digit, starting 7, making it a 1987. There weren't many models in the XRB series, but what ones were manufactured appeared between '87 and '89. To the best of my knowledge these were manufactured in Japan, although Aria did move a large portion of its production to Korean at this time, '87 onwards.
