Total Watts

  1. At least hearing from a few other people gives me more confidence it won't be awful, haha. They seem to be fairly established in the guitar market (for a small company at least), but there is little info on the basses in this country. Going to be getting a tax rebate in the next month, and am looking to put it into a 5 string that I'll actually want to play.
  2. it's a 5 string aerodyne copy, that's why I'm interested. I'm not expecting anything wildly different. I just want a 5er, and Aerodynes are my favourite style of bass.
  3. Not sure anyone here is asking for silence or just standing there, staring. Singing along, cheering, clapping, jumping around would all be perfectly good things to do at most gigs, as you are engaging with the band, and showing interest in their efforts. Being stood around with your back to the stage, chatting to your mates, or checking facebook is very obviously not showing an interest.
  4. Likely depends on the kind of pub etc, I'll grant you. But would it be a fair assumption that not everyone in a pub would necessarily be there specifically to see that band?
  5. To be fair, I wouldn't think anyone would expect your average pub covers band to get the total attention from the audience.
  6. I've been to 6-10 metal type gigs over the last couple of months, and it is a wide-spread problem. It's far worse for the support acts than the main bands, but it does still happen during the main bands. I may not particularly like any given support band, but I feel like it is common decency to give them my attention for the 20-30 mins they have on stage (I've even been surprised a few times by some cracking bands). Anyone who talks through a main band should just be sat at home with their mates, with the band's album on the stereo, lol. Also, I hope there is a special circle of hell reserved for anyone who thinks recording gigs on their phones is acceptable behaviour.
  7. Just seen an ad for the Alpha 5, which looks stunning. I've looked at some demos of the 4 string version online and it sounds pretty nice too. Assuming I don't pre-order (which seems to end in 2 days), the bass will cost $999 + shipping + customs fees, which will likely end up around £1000. I'm not a huge fan of the idea of dropping a grand on something I can't see or play beforehand, especially with it being a purchase from overseas. From what I can tell, they are a fairly small brand, but was just wondering if anyone knew of anywhere in this country that is a Jericho stockist?
  8. It's my pleasure to start a feedback thread for Matt. He just bought my P bass off me, excellent comms and a lovely guy. Came over, tried the bass and sorted out a bank transfer. Top guy to deal with, buy and sell with confidence!
  9. Haven't been playing with anyone recently unfortunately. Combination of me being a bit fussy when it comes to bands and being a bit ill for quite a while. Getting back into it now though! Recently bought a deluxe jazz off here and the neck suits me more, so the P bass just isn't getting a look in anymore.
  10. Thanks I've been to Standlake a few times and I've gone to a couple of Follyfests, so I may well have seen you!
  11. Bought a VT bass 500 head off Martin. Pleasure to do business with. Excellent comms, sent the item out really promptly and it sounds fantastic.
  12. Bought Phil's Jazz Bass this afternoon. Top guy to deal with. Bass was in excellent condition, just as described, and as we met halfway at a services, he even brought along his headphone amp so that I could hear the bass!
