I recently bought a bass from Wunjo and had the best buying experience I've ever had. The guys were helpful and 'appropriately attentive' when I first visited; did me a great deal when I called to order a similar model to one I tried (offering alternatives on loan when the order time was longer than expected too - I didn't need to take up the offer, but appreciated what is surely beyond the call of duty) and specific delivery requirements were no trouble. After disappointing shenanigans with various shops and online retailers in recent years, this was a breath of fresh air - I felt looked after by real people, who cared about their customers. I will go out of my way (I live in Manchester) to give them my custom again in the future. All in all, a confidence-restoring experience with a real music shop. Cheers Wunjo! Tobie3 points

"What do we want?" "Anarchy!" "When do we want it?" "soon really but not until the bass player has negotiated a reasonable price for a suitable venue where the safety of the site has been confirmed and a full risk assessment and method statement are completed, yeah!"3 points

I traded to this at the SW Bass Bash. It appears to be 93/94 MIJ without the Silver Series decal and has had a Bassass II added. Not come across this shade Blue before but such a nice Bass, weighs in at just under 4kg and has nice punchy pick-ups and 40mm nut width. It came with a different scratch plate and creme covers, swapping them out I noticed there was a brass plate below the pickups in the cavity. Not an expert on early Squiers so if anyone can help with some background...?2 points

Does that mean you will send me child maintenance every month and some extra cash on its birthday?2 points

Keep the Wal and buy a Harley Benton shorty as a second bass and modify as you go along. More fun and you don't need to feel bad about selling the bass. Second option sell the bass and give Alan at ACG a ring and discuss your requirements with him.2 points

I'd say it was better than using standard foam tips but not as good as proper custom moulds. That said I was also impressed with the comply t600 foam tips. My wife helped me do the diy moulds and that made life easier. The best bit is that as soon the second ear was filled with putty I couldn't hear a word she was saying for 10 mins.2 points

So, all in all, how relaxing was it? This much! http:// (The Rev nodded off.) And how much fun was it? This much! http:// (Jimrs2k2 reckons it's the most fun he's had since last year!)2 points

Just got back from rehearsals, so these are first impressions only., From the moment I plugged it in everything sounded just a bit better. It was still my tone, only with a bit more definition and punch. It might be the fact that I had the comp on, but whatever it was, I liked it a lot. The EQ is pretty subtle, but it seems to be just at the right frequencies. Itโs no Q/strip, but it more versatile than my BDDI and VTBass. The drive section wasnโt quite as positive. Kicking in the stock tome print I lost the fullness and low end. Beaming the Natural tone print resulted in a nicer OD, but nowhere near as nice as the Aftershock. In fact the AS sounded really nice after the Spectrdarive, better than it has ever been. The two work really., really well. The Spectrcomp sounds exactly like I remember from the standalone, so no complaints there, and its nice to have it integrated. The โissueโ I have with it though, is, like the Q/strip, its not going to colour my tone like Iโm used to with the BDDI etc. This isnโt a bad thing as such, nor a negative, just that I will still need to use other boxes to add the colour. Tonight ill test out thei headphone side, cant wait as that was the original reason for getting it.2 points

This is probably the best Precision I have ever played. I don't really know what else to say - occasionaly Fender produces a bass that can't be faulted, and this is one of them. Originally owned by Greeneking, who bought it new. It's a lightweight, and when I got it I swapped the tuners for Gotoh resolite's (which by the way are very nice) to see if it would break the 8lb mark. I was going to replace the original tuners before taking these pictures, but they're in a "safe place" and where exactly that is escapes me at the moment. If it sells before I find them I'd like the buyer to return the Gotoh's to me when I forward the original tuners to him. The bass is mint - no marks whatsoever. It's always been kept in it's case when not in use so the nitro has no uneven fading. All original case candy is there. Peter drilled holes for the bridge tray and did a grand job (unlike most I've seen). I'm not sure when or why Fender stopped production of these, but since they did there aren't going to be any nicer examples out there.1 point

Barefaced Super Midget in excellent condition with a roqsolid cover, in Exeter but lots of travel across to Bournemouth and further so may be able to deliver! Aside from evidence of use on the rubber feet this cab is in mint condition, anybody who has used one can confirm they sound huge for the size/weight. 600w, 8ohms. Stagg stand included! Very clear for Upright use.1 point

Spending ยฃยฃยฃ on bass gear then having to contribute towards a PA that you barely sing 2 words into....that usually dissappears when the band splits.1 point

Yeh - I thought it sounded rubbish until I put the LEDs on, then it sounded fantastic! Mike: Why do all your pictures (and noone elses) always have a http:// in front of them?1 point

+1 battery power would have been a nice bonus and helped make it truly portable but I suspect itโs the current draw thatโs the limiting factor here. The Ditto X2 (same chassis) is battery power able but it only draws ~100mA compared to ~250mA for the SpectraDrive.1 point

It would be nice also to see Lindsay Buckingham join the reformed Split Enz, although the hair might need some work.1 point

Unfortunately, just like any other gig, the packing up was the low-light - but that was soon done! And even Jen's pal Mr Carrot the tattie brush (remember him from the first pic post?) reckons he had so much fun that he'll be back next year. http:// THE END (until next year )1 point

I suspect there's definitely more at play with yours; I've had over 15 Rics and adding/subtracting the cover hasn't made one jot of difference either way. FWIW when I do have them on a Ric I rest my picking hand on there, which is actually how I learnt to play. Given that Chris Squire rested his hand in the same way (albeit his pickup was an actual horseshoe) I'd hardly call it a talent stopper; he's my all-time favourite player.1 point

Looking great!!!! I see what you mean about it looking White but either way I like it, Definite improvement on the Sunburst......1 point

Plus one to that. Used regularly at home and in practice for the past 8 years. Never missed a beat and always surprises with its output.1 point

I'd say Led Zep pushed what the Yardbirds we're doing to a totally different level. I can't say Fleet has moved out any further than Led Zeppelin. Blue1 point

https://www.reddogmusic.co.uk/catalog/product/913281/citronic-qmix3 This looks strangely similiar to the Behringer Xenyx302USB that I use only with battery power as well as USB. You can use the USB as a line in on channel 2 as well on a Windows tablet/laptop, don't know if this would work on an iPad but you could always just use the phono inputs.1 point

Is the urban decay band vid/photo not a bit overdone? Just saying. Why not try and come up with something different, ironic, unusual? It might get noticed a bit more. take the p*ss out of shiny new big business or yuppie housing.1 point

and not forgetting David Arnold who did the orchestration. For my money this is the best ever version of a Bond tune though Moby's version is pretty good too1 point

I've been playing about 45 years now, never put my bass through any FX and no one has ever suggested that I should. What did he feel was missing from your sound that a pedal would cure?1 point

The promised video.... This was filmed last night on my Samsung S8 using the phone's mic, I have uploaded it without any kind of processing.... this was in a marquee, I was about 8m from the band, and was measuring between 88 and 92db... (I didn't do the sound, so don't shoot me if Clara's vocal was not high enough in the mix!). I was surprised at how good my phone audio was!1 point

Ross bought a cab from me. Being local he picked it up and we had a good chat about amps etc - seems we have the same bass/amp etc, must be a Hertfordshire thing1 point
