She is I believe male to female. Good luck to her, though in 2018 she really shouldn't need to fear any kind of prejudice or childishness. I guess she's just being honest about it.

She shouldn't have to, but 2018 is not exactly a time of tolerance and human compassion. We're in an era of intellectual regression. Actually it's not quite as simple as that. We're in an era abundant with intellectual progress and tolerance, which is being stifled by an increasingly dumb, aggressive and intolerant ageing population, who wish it was still 1842. And thanks to the miracle of modern medicine, they're out there shuffling about in huge numbers, and they will live until they're 136 years old. So it's going to take a long time for attitudes to change significantly.

My opinion? If you can afford it, keep as many as you enjoy owning. If the time comes when finances get tight, or you want/need to put the money into something else, sell the ones you like the least. Frank.

I love mine. They seem to be getting quite popular to be honest, although I’ve been actively looking into them I notice them being made by more manufacturers. Sting normally copies me anyway.

Yes it was. Shame you didn't post on here sooner - then @CameronJ would have tagged you in the FS section, instead of me, where he is clearly on a mission to fulfil my 'dreams'. Could someone please tell him a) that I'm trying very hard not to add another bass my to my existing herd of six until I've got some good use out of them and b) that he could do that fulfilling dreams stuff much more easily by becoming lead singer in a band (he has an awesome male vocal) and, as it's almost impossible to play bass well and sing at the same time (unless you're called Phil Lynott) he could invite me along to be his bassist. Job done. There was a grey BBNE2 listed a few days back in the FS that and has just been traded, probably for a Sadowsky (ok just kidding about the Sadowsky!) @dannybuoy - I'd recommend give the store a call about that BB2025X, as I don't remember seeing it on my visit (but that could just be me being old) and it's not listed on their website as far as I can tell? I can see that your recent amp and cab sales drive is leaving you with a surplus that's burning a hole in your pocket! Have to admit, as lovely as the BB2025s are, I personally could never justify the premium over the almost identical BB1025s which, we're both agreed, are just a wonderful bass for the money.

So - this happened yesterday, these were the sellers pics but you get the idea! Most folks on here know how good these are and I've wanted one for a while now. Judging by the serial it appears to be a 2013 build, and the fit and finish really are fantastic. Showed up locally on the Facebook marketplace and I was quick! Should put the GAS for a Pino signature to rest (for a while anyway!). I plan to put some TI Flats on it, give it a setup and that's about it really, possibly some flat top knobs but it's great as it is. May consider upgrading the loom to a Kiogon job in the future. Doesn't seem to need it but, you know....

Over the years our personal experience of auditioning or working with female vocalists has brought nothing but hassle, maybe we just chose some bad ones, this is not sexist, just fact in our case, so we would not be interested.

I'd like to think the music industry is an area where you would encounter less intolerance to gender, sexuality, race, colour, whatever differences folks might have than a lot of other areas. Music has brought together all manner of different folks and pushed the boundaries and lead the way as far as all these issues are concerned. A lot of the time being a positive driving force in a negative era. I probably haven't quite explained myself well, maybe not using the correct terminology but hopefully you get my meaning.

As I said, it's a generalisation, I don't for one second think young people are blameless. You could also argue that it would be difficult for a frail wheezy 84 year old homophobe to go gay-bashing, because he would have trouble making it out of the front door, let alone punch anyone in the face. But see actual data for shifting attitudes below: ...but of course, more importantly, we all know the demographic divide of the recent 'big' thing we all voted on, after which attitudes (and brains) regressed and we got plunged back into the dark ages. I don't use my pedal board much these days but when I did I put the receiver in it, then into the chain as you would with your guitar lead if you had one. Obviously still one lead to your amp but that's not what you would buy a wireless system to defeat.

Too true, I was thinking exactly the same thing just the other night when there was a BBC news report on homophobia where CCTV footage depicted a 20 year old smash a glass in to someone's face because he was holding hands with his partner. Oh wait a minute, I was thinking the exact opposite, that we now have a completely new generation of intolerant homophobic and racist biggots that apparently have no boundaries when it comes to inflicting violence on others. As far as I'm concened, my generation is not the problem.

Smoothound for me: never a single dropout or blip, and verrrry small, too...you can bend the budget slightly and buy new, too...

Pedal-wise, i take wireless output into tuner, tuner out goes via cable into preamp and pedals are on preamp fx loop.

Especially the Sting bit.

Yeah, you'll see in that response from Sandberg that they say they use a higher zero fret. That is not the usual way, but it obviously works for them. Can't see the point to be honest, they're sort of using the zero fret as a metal nut. Why not start with the right size wire in the first place. The usual procedure is to have the same wire as the rest, this gets levelled along with the rest of them. This ensures perfect action at the nut as it's the same height as the surrounding frets. Sandbergs way does not.

Are you sure? I have heard others mention transparent speakers, perhaps it has two of these.

I'm not sure that I'd agree, there. Non-musical cymbals will tire the ear very quickly, in whatever circumstances, in my experience. Musicality does not come cheap, as with all other domains, but there's not much to be done to 'improve' a duff cymbal except not play it. The best-sounding ones for one's pocket, I'd say, and preferably compatible with the rest of the cymbal set. They are an integral part of the kit, after all. Listen to 'em, and reject any that don't sound musical (unless playing absolute 'trash'-style, of course, in which case all bets are off..! )

If there is a better bass shop in the country, I'd sure like to know. Have been a customer since 2001. Sold instruments on commission, bought amps, strings, bits and pieces, had lots of setups and repairs done. Always top-notch service from Martin, John, and now Charlie. The best.

Same here... if you're using the zero fret as a nut and cut grooves on it, then what's the point? Use a metal nut and be done. I have not seen any zero frets with grooves from factory, and that includes the 4 I've owned (one guitar and three basses). edit: just read the Sandberg info... I don't get it, then. What flavours can I have those humble pies in? I'll eat one, but I'm still confused as to what the point is...

Here are my two. The brown one is my first bass, bought in 1981.....although everything except the tuners has now been replaced in a 35 year attempt to create a Wal/Warwick/Fender hybrid!! Currently passive (JB standard wiring, with an additional series / parallel switch) as when the latest pickups arrived I was too impatient to solder up the electronics. It's had a new lease of life since I fitted a set of EB cobalt flats and will probably be going active again soon. The Wal is ... well, a Wal, just like all the other Wal Customs in the world.

Couldn't post last night as we had a power cut when I got home so no internet. Finally got power back and hour or so ago. Played a country pub outside Abingdon last night, didn't look too promising - small room, pouring with rain, but in fact went very well and had a good turn out. Playing with Witney/Eynsham band The Mighty Cadillacs, which now includes half the Wirebirds (bass & guitar) and it was gratifying to have a few people there who came along because they wanted to see the Wirebirds guys in action as well as Cadillacs' fans. Really good gig, no hassles, no arguments, just good fun, good music and good company. And only 15 mins from home! Resting today, then a 400 mile round trip to play my first Grateful Dudes gig tomorrow.

Have recently just obtained a Vigier Passion11 in greenburst to go along with my Passion111 custom in funky orange (not sure what the colour is!! though the bass is a funk machine!) So comparison between the carbon neck and the 10/90 system on the go at the moment....Both a joy to play and a very happy bassist

Agreed, and I suppose it's testament to their product quality that I've never had reason to contact their customer service. Nice to know it's just as good!
