Great quote this morning from Mark Hamill:
"That debate was the worst thing I've ever seen, and I was in the Star Wars Holiday Special." -
DR Black Beauties have arrived and are now on the SkaJazz. OHMYGODTHEYLOOKAMAZING. Pics later. 😎
As an aside... superb service from Lord Of The Strings. I'll definitely be using them again.

Hidden gems on BBC Sounds #1: 'J Kingston Platt', a series of monologues by the brilliant Peter Jones. Gently hilarious.

When you hear your son and his fiancée debating/arguing over whether the car they just heard was a Lamborghini Huracán or Gallardo, you know he's got a keeper

Nice start to the day today. Came downstairs to find a very tired looking white-tailed bumblebee stumbling about on the hall floor. I recalled reading something about bees responding well to a bit of energy and hydration, so i mixed a tiny bit of sugar in a splash of water on the end of a teaspoon, and held it down in front of the bee. It found it and immediately started to drink, I could see its tongue lapping it up. After slurping for a couple of minutes it stopped and visibly began to revive, so I took it outside. It headed straight for some flowers and started doing what bees do, looking a lot healthier. My feelgood moment for the day.

Well done you. Restores my faith in humanity reading things like that. Unlike the little shyte I saw in the park. He was astride his bike with another kid watching and was bouncing his front wheel up and down on the path. As I rounded the corner, his mate remonstrated with him to which he shouted ‘I don’t care, I hate them’ and on seeing me they both scarpered. When I stopped where they had been there were pieces of earthworms squidged all over the path. His parents would be sooo proud if they knew 🤬. Not little kids either. Probably 10yrs if not more. Makes my blood boil. Well, boil more than it is already today 🥵.

New ear cushions and headband fitted to my trusty Sennheiser HD280 pros... good for another 20 years now, I reckon!
-
Hi,
Here's what mine look like now. I bought both the ear cushions and the headband cover off fleaBay for not very much at all.
The cushions went on with a minimal amount of swearing -- after destroying the old ones to take them off, the new ones have to be stretched so that the retaining strip slips into a small gap round the outside. Easier done than explained, actually
The headband cover really is a knitted woollen thing held on with poppers... looks like something your nan might make but it's really very comfortable, especially when you're a bit short of thatch up top like I am

I paid £20 for mine in 1982...

I owned a Fender Musicmaster bass years ago and got rid of it after about 3 years, I got it for £75 which admittedly was a bargain but the bass itself was dreadful, it must have weighed about 14ibs, had one of those dreadful two saddle bridges, the cheapest pickguard and the only way i can think of describing the tone is "murky" it had very little high end and strangely not much low end but it seemed to have a lot of the muddier mid frequencies, the tone control did almost nothing. Now on Ebay there are Musicmasters going for nearly 1.5k !!! Insane amount of money when you can get a Mexican Mustang bass which is a much better bass for under £600

Just think, you could have this lovely P bass neck, yours for only £1297.00 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1972-FENDER-PRECISION-BASS-NECK-made-in-USA/174297048267?_trkparms=aid%3D1110002%26algo%3DSPLICE.SOI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225076%26meid%3D14ffd87c1c824b61b07b1d9df4838bc4%26pid%3D100047%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D174285765143%26itm%3D174297048267%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSellersOtherItemsV2&_trksid=p2047675.c100047.m2108

Another gig bites the dust, and this one hurts... the One Love Festival in Kent, in August. Absolutely gutted. I was really looking forward to this one.

Another lockdown tweak done... added a HF tweeter and crossover to my wee Behringer 60w 1x12 rehearsal combo. Mud, begone!

Just ordered a new bench vice and a bunch of new HSS bits. Barely managed to resist the temptation to splash out on a pillar drill. Oh, the excitement of isolation.

Ever had one of those days when it's only mid-morning, and already you just want to climb into bed, pull the duvet over your head and pretend it never f***ing happened?

Shuttle 9.2 incoming...

From the manual:
QuoteWhen driving the power amp hard, the result is increased heft and girth while maintaining the dynamics and articulation of individual notes. That's where I've been going wrong. I've been going for heft when I should have been paying more attention to my girth!

Feeling like a complete idiot for not having made my move earlier. Bang goes my hoped-for NAD.
