gary mac
We have a gig in a social club, new venue for us in Hatfield, Herts. 60+ numbers, so it will definitely be one of my lighter basses for that one. Dingwall or maybe one of the vintage Fenders
lojo
We've collectively decided not to do one , everyone has family's and we don't fancy the comedown and pack up that night Best night of the year to be on the other side of the mix's imo Good luck to everyone who's gigging , not being negative , just my current situation , might change when the kids are older
mrtcat
We're booked for a good payer at a social club. Email from guitarist today saying he won't be available so if anyone knows a good dep in Oxon area who wants to earn on NYE give me a pm. Muzz
We're playing Barrow in Furness. Sweet Baby Jeebers and the Orphans... It might be fun, tho if it is, I suspect that'll be a first for Barrow...
spike
A pub in Harpenden, Herts for me. Second new year's eve in a row there, the landlady loved us so much the first time she booked us for this year straight away.
Rich
I haven't had a NYE gig for years. Really miss it.
Woodinblack
Playing in a one of our local pubs which is our favourite venue, people are warm and friendly, span all ages and want to have a good time. Looking forward to it greatly. So much better than being either in a pub having to pay or watching Jools on the TV
neepheid
It's my 40th birthday on Hogmanay so I'll be spending it with family. Playing a gig on the 2nd January instead as part of wider birthday celebrations
mep
We are playing at our favorite pub. Will be doing an extra short set after midnight. Fancy dress is optional but very popular. Last year we played the same venue and had a great time.
Gunsfreddy2003
Playing at a venue in Cirencester, lovely venue with stage, PA and lighting rig and a nice easy load in. Normal singer and drummer had other gigs so getting deps in which could be interesting!
blue
We play the same 2 gigs every NYE. We do a 3-7 at one bar, pack up and play a 9-12 at another. Always a fun night. Double work, double pay. Blue
krispn
We have a New Year's Day gig and have done these last few years. It's a sweet gig, going on for the early slot about 6. Lot's of tourists and regulars kicking about and the mix of rock/pop covers along with Irish stuff (Pogues etc) goes down a treat!
The Admiral
We're playing Barrow in Furness. Sweet Baby Jeebers and the Orphans... It might be fun, tho if it is, I suspect that'll be a first for Barrow...
Not the end of the worl, but you can see it from there. It can be rough - or great. They kno how to drink, so be prepared for an interesting evening and a challenging Load out. I'd take the Squier P and the Peavey combo! Have a great one! Always some girls up for a bop, and they don't overdress IME!
KevB
Done NYE gigs for last 2 years so happy for one off this year, unless someone calls me for a particularly lucrative dep job.
acidbass
I much prefer gigging on New Years Eve than going out as a punter myself. Inevitably, the most comfortable place in a manic bar or club is on the stage. That, plus the fees are usually 1.5x or 2x the standard! Looking forward to it. EBS_freak
Depping with a scratch band... so I'm not entirely sure if that's even classed as a dep! Should be a good laugh - localish trendy bar...
gapiro
We're at a social club in Ipswich - long way to go Good payer though, and suits our music so should go down a storm. Have had to turn down 3 other gigs for NYE already.
Raymondo
Playing my Local pub. First time they have had a band on and the layout after a massive refit this year is somewhat challenging but everyone is looking forward to it. It will make a change for me to be playing near home ....the rest of the band can travel from Birmingham for a change! Should be fun and the landlord has offered free beer for us all night ....on top of decent wages....I will be able to make the most of if
phil.c60
Offered a nice gig at a pub we play in regularly. went there last year to watch a mates band and it was a great evening, so I was pleased to be asked - his band had to drop out last week.. Everyone said yes......the our guitar/singer/frontman bailed so we had to say no. A shame really, as I was really looking forward to it. bassbiscuits
For the first time in about 15 years I'm not playing this NYE. In fact my whole December is unusually quiet for some reason. Like some of the others posting here, I've got a wife and young boy so I'm going to put my spare time to good use and spend some quality time with them. Quite looking forward to staying in for a change!
cytania
We're playing the Poppy & Pint in Lady Bay. We weren't first choice but one of the band that couldn't do it mentioned it to me. Being a seven piece I was amazed that everyone could do it. Our lead singer lives down the road so he made our pitch to the pub and voila NYE gig. 😀 Edited December 3, 2015 by cytania
The Saint
Last year we played at a rather nice restaurant down on the coast and had a great time. During the break they booked us for this year...! It's a long evening, starting at 8pm and finishing around 1am. The band split into various combinations to do some duo/trio sets. We kick off with acoustic ballads and some jazz while dinner is served, then break open the rock & roll barrel as the evening progresses. The money is good and they supply the band and our partners with a top quality 4 course meal. It's not our typical venue but it's nice to have our partners there and be looked after.... Truckstop
We're at a pub we've never played before but I guess someone's told them that we're an ok band! No tickets so should be quite a casual affair and we don't need to get there until 8pm so we're all going out for dinner beforehand which will be nice.
