Trace Elliot AH300-7 Amp

&

Trace Elliot 4x10 Cab 400W 8Ω

Both the Amp and Cab have been re-tolexed and the closest way to describe the finish would be to say that it looks as though a large blue snake swallowed a Trace Eliot rig. Needless to say, it looks awesome!!... Providing you like to ROCK!!!

The AH300-7 is a top quality, English made amp with some very nice features such as;

· 7 band graphic eq preamp

· Built in adjustable Compressor

· Pre-shape switch

· Passive/Active inputs

· Effects send/return

· Balanced D.I.

Another cool little feature is the gain led meter that lights up to show when you are running the gain too high, too low or just right... I thought that was pretty nifty... All Goldilocks and what-not!!

The graphic eq can dial in some amazing tone and can also be bypassed should you choose to keep it simple and not take advantage of all that lovely Trace Eliot rich eq mastering...

On the back it's pretty straightforward, you got the mains input, the on/off switch and two speaker outputs that operate with standard ¼ inch “jack" instrument cable.
Minimum load is 4ohms.

The Cab is a 4x10 400W @ 8Ω Trace Elliot behemoth that weighs in at roughly the same weight as a classic 1960's mini cooper. If you are blessed with the strength of ten men (as I am) this is a one-man lift however, if you are an average puny mortal, this cab is certainly not something I can recommend hauling around on a regular basis... unless, of course, you have a very attractive chiropractor whom you would like to visit more often...b

Cab has recessed handles on‘t' side and rubber feet on‘t' base. Dimensions of cab (including feet) are;

Height = 71 cm

Width = 62 cm

Depth = 43 cm

Everything is working as it should and all sounds fantastic!! The stack had been sat around a while and there were some initial crackles when I first plugged it  & played through.  I have since; opened the  head unit (very carefully) cleaned the connections and cleared fine dust with light air CPU airspray. Also opened rear connection input panel at rear of cabinet, cleared dust and cleaned contacts. Another play through, and now the Blue Snakeskin Bass Rig Behemoth Battle Stack is now primed and ready to Attack, noise free...  👍  .... until you start playing through it... :laugh1:

There's a small piece of missing plastic from one of the port covers at the front of the cab (pictured) Also, a covering cap is missing from the gain switch on the amp (pictured)

The front panel of the amp lights up, which is pretty “rock ‘n' roll" and also features a carry handle so looks like a fancy blue reptile skin briefcase when being held... amp weighs in at 12.4kg. So most puny humans should be able to lift the amp at least...

Dimensions of Amp (with feet) are:

Height = 15 cm

Width= 50 cm

Depth = 43 cm

I imagine if you want this rig couriered you'd be looking at roughly £2000 so it's collection only or part meet unless you got a spare £2k you wanna throw at it...

Any questions, please feel free to ask.

Send me a message if you want me to drive the rig your way (for fuel cost)   Or come visit me, you can have a trial and play 👍 I am more than happy to let you loose on a few different bass guitars so that you can get a real feel for what the trace stack is capable of... :o

All the best ^_^

My oh my oh my.

Oh my.

Don't suppose my Quilter BB800 would look anything like as sexy in snakeskin.

My oh my etc.

Very reminiscence of the padded Kustom gear from the ‘70’s. 😎

So good. That finish would add a whole load of 'strut' to any glam rock bassists gig!

Not only does it add ‘strut' it also improves the sound tenfold and completely distracts the audience from my inability to play Bass!! :i-m_so_happy:

I'm sure I'm not alone in lusting after, what must currently be, the best looking amp for sale on this forum. Monster tones too!!

I'm hoping that my own AH300 12 will be winging it's way back to me in the not too distant future so I leave the door open for another fortunate TE owner to be to snap this up.

Remember, the heads themselves are a very manageable 12kg, an easy one hand lift.

      Here's what Ampeg say about this cab:
      400 Watts RMS 4 Ohms Freq response 50Hz - 18kHz (H x W x D) 25.75” x 22.75” x 17.5” Ampeg B410H Series 4x10 Bass Cabinets are quality two-way speaker cabinets suitable for all venue sizes. The cabinets feature heavy duty recessed handles, removable casters, and are built of void free baltic birch plywood. The jackplate features two 1/4” jacks wired in parallel, allowing easy daisy chaining from one speaker to another. Each of the jacks may be used as an input or a through connection. The three position HF Horn switch allows for:
      Full high frequency output (0 setting) High frequencies reduced by 6dB (-6 setting) Horn shutoff (off setting)
      I'm selling as I have upgraded to a different cab to better accommodate my head. The cab has a few surface scratches (see images), but please feel free to test it out before purchasing.
      The cab has 4 swivel casters for ease of transport, and has two fold-away handles for 1-2 people to carry.

      Collection from SW16.

      As I am moving to the USA and stuck in the U.K. thanks to covid-19 shutting off all means to return I thought I would have a clear out of my bulkier items sooner rather than later.

      1 x Amp and 1 x cab set of each £400 each.

      The 4x10 cab was lovingly restored, refinished and re lined and has been a mainstay for recording that live bass sound, it comes with the original speakers. The 2 x 10 has been used for guitar and higher freq augmentation.

      like many of these Trace amps, one GP7 is missing a couple of white EQ fader slider caps on one but as they stay fixed once set it’s not a huge deal. I use a toothpick. I never got round to sorting it out. I use the DI outs on these a lot as well for going into PA and such.

      you can hear both bass amps and speakers in use on all the bass and guitar parts of my EP https://clairefoxx.bandcamp.com/releases I work it’s in the air bass and only use a little DI. All guitar is from the bass guitars plus pedals and uses a matching GP7 an a 2 x 10 cab, mix of DI and Mic from the cab. I encourage audio bleed as well to ensure it sounds natural.

      Collection is a must or I can deliver to Edinburgh/Glasgow/Carlisle or thereabouts for downpayment on fuel etc. Further the let’s discuss.

      The 2 x 10” and the second Series 6 GP7 is also for sale, same asking price.

      These are the inside speakers, original Celestion K10-70s. All in great condition for their age and no wear or torn or dented bits.

      this set of shots was before the grilles got a spray.

      1 x GP7 Series 6 Amp and 1 x 2x10” cab set -  £400.

      The 2x10 cab is untouched/unrestored and has original Trace Trace Elliot branded speakers inside it. It’s a heavy and sturdy 2 x 10 On wheels and is capable of going very loud indeed. The 2 x 10 has been used for my bass guitar used as a guitar with my pedalboard and for higher freq augmentation.

      The amp is in good shape, some ageing of the tolex but all inputs and outputs are working and not missing any EQ caps.
