I think xotic may have done themselves out of a few sales by calling the BB a preamp - I use mine as an o/d, as do most from what I read on forums... agree though, amazing pedal :)
I don't know, I've brought 3 and have a clone.
very useable as a preamp.

I use mine going into a suncoast 'cascaded' to push into gnarly snarl.

Looking for a BB MB preamp to go before it though to get another push during big sections of songs.

indeed! What music are you making Fretnomore? Do you have a link for us to hear that board in action?
I'm actually in a blues/classic rock cover band at the moment. This board has little or no place there, it's for my own expriments and fun, more for synth and atmospheric type sounds. I don't have any soundclips at the moment but I may take some time next weekend and put something together. I have a bit of work to do programming patches first.

Just wired this up with Van Damme cables. Trimmed down the board to the bare essentials for the gigs I'm currently doing (I've got a PT Nano to run a modular setup if I need anything extra.)

I've pared back and simplified my board to suit my needs now so here you go! This is a rough layout trial and nothing's velcro'd down in this pic.
Signal path is: Tuner into VT Bass Deluxe into Cali76 Compressor. Simple but effective (see what I did there!)

Nice!

Do you not find that the TU2 sucks out some tone? Could be worth taking the signal to it from the VT parallel output if so,my TU2 is a tone killer.

I have done in the past but not noticeably with this setup, I'll investigate though Chiliwailer. Cheers.

Any particular reason for putting the Cali76 after the VT? And does the Cali76 stay on all the time? (The one on my guitar pedalboard does.)

EDIT: I notice you are running the Cali76 at 18 volts - good on yer!

Ha ha, yes good spot! On 18V for the transformer, just awaiting on an adapter cable for that output now.

I put the compressor last in the chain as that's just the practice/signal path I was trained to do at work - Gain, EQ, Compression. I just instinctivley set it up that way!

It does stay on all the time and you can really see it kicking in and balancing out the string volumes on the meter but, set right you don't notice it there at all while doing it's thing. A great unit IMO :)

I have just realised that i havnt actually put my board up here.
I run this and a mic (that goes through an EHX voice box), into a Boss RC50, alongside a Korg ESX-1. I tempo-sync the drum machine, loop pedal and delay via midi.
Heres my board:

Obligitory pretty-lights shot:

Signal chain for board is:
TRAPCo buffer In/Out > TC Polytune > Markbass Compressore > Danelectro FAB > Bardge Concepts VFB-2 (IE Frantabit>Joyo Vintage OV) > Zoom MS-60b (BDDI>Amp sim>Noise Gate>Room Verb) > Eventide TimeFactor > TRAPCo buffer In/Out
That would then go into the loop pedal. Midi chain: RC50>ESX-1>TimeFactor.
I power the board with a Gigrig power system.

Sorry for both the poor quality photo (took on phone) and for how untidy the leads are…

Hi,
I'm new here, I have been a lurker for a while though. Here's my board. When I took the pic I'd just run out of diago jacks so had to use the yellow patch lead.
The signal path if anyone's interested is:
TU2 > LS2 > LS2 out to MXR octave > GE7B > EHX signal pad > AMP
LS2 loop a > VT bass
LS2 loop b > A/B Switch > loop a Boss ODB3 loop b Sansamp bass driver
Basically this means I can blend the vt bass and bass driver for my 'clean' sound then hit the a/b box to add the odb3 blended with the vt bass.
