After loving the album since I was a kid, I've had to finally learn Diamonds On The Souls Of Her Feet for a first dance. Such a banger!

"I was 8 when this came out and I remember even then tuning into the bass line."
Ouch! I was 35, but I still loved (and love) the bass line. That is a great version @Rich, thanks!

@CameronJ I ended up paying around 25% on top of the final balance (which included shipping) 😣.
More than I expected this time, however still cheaper than me getting it in the UK

Don't suppose anyone in the Hemel Hempstead/High Wycombe areas has a Kala U-bass (or very similar) that I might borrow for some recording? If it gets the result I want, may well purchase one. Cheers

Stableyard Music at Hatfield House have a large range of Ukes - you'll probably have to visit them to see which are any good.

Tell John I sent you.....

LaBella Gold Flats fitted to my Lakland 44-94......sounds great on some recordings so far! Can't wait to gig it. Here's to not changing strings ever again?! lol

@davebass66Hmmm, can't say I've noticed a volume dip compared to the Chromes on my '71 Precision, but difficult to know what other differences are coming from the pickups etc (my 44-94 is a custom passive P/J). Not noticed anything significant going from the factory rounds it had on it to the Golds, but not to say there might have been some very minor differences, nothing my amp can't handle lol.

First gig back tomorrow! Pretty low pressure, but still.....from someone who used to gig, at the minimum, once a week....I'm a bit anxious haha. Excited too though!

@LukeFRC This will be my Elrick NJS5 on it's first outing! Excited for that!
-
Had my Serek out for a gig on Saturday just gone. While I KNOW it's an amazing bass....it never fails to surprise me how good it actually is, how fun it is. Love it! Was a fantastic gig!
-
What do Limelight Precision’s tend to come in at new nowadays?
-
Long-shot, but anyone in South Bucks (High Wycombe way) have a Spector Euro or Rebop 4 string? I’d love to try one out!
-
Slightly down-market, but I have a Spector Performer (Indonesian) for £200; I'm in Bracknell.
Alternatively @NancyJohnson was looking at selling a more upmarket model.
-
Cheers Paul.
@SibobI've got a EuroLT - Barts/Darkglass tone cap. I'm in Crowthorne, other side of Wokingham. About ten miles from HW.

Did a bass cover, first time for everything. John Mayer's 'Still Feel Like Your Man' (Pino):
-
Popped a TC Spark Mini on my board so I can switch between a couple of basses with very different outputs without changing pedal settings. Perfect, super quiet, super transparent, sorted!
-
Big shout out to Markbass UK (MSL Pro & Real Electronics) for a 24 hour turnaround on a small LM800 repair!
-
My Moollon P-Classic was an excellent bass, but I've just had it properly set-up and now it's just even more wonderful!! 🙌
-
@Daz39Absolutely haha. Steve Busby in High Wycombe

Mega long-shot, but is anyone driving between Herts and Leeds any time in the next 1-3 weeks?
-
Si...
Former member @bassface2k10 is a truck driver. I've messaged him to see if he can help...

Lakland 44-64 sold, sad to see it go. But Moollon P incoming in April and my eye on a Precision 5...which should hopefully be with me by mid-December
-
Lockdown has me enquiring about a Limelight. DOH
-
Missed out on an Ibanez Blazer bass on Facebook last night....and now searching around for another (I want another P style bass for tape-wounds)....someone convince me I shouldn't? lol

1590a Bass Overdrive with relay bypass in the house....they said it couldn't be done, Schu-Tone Pedals have done it!
-
@Daz39 The type of switch really. Most standard ‘true bypass’ pedals use a 3PDT mechanical footswitch, hence them being quite clunky and relatively heavy to operate. When utilising a relay bypass, the actual on/off happens within the relay, so you can use a soft-footswitch to simply send a signal telling the relay to switch the effect on/off, it’s not reliant on a mechanical action from the footswitch.
Ultimately their are pros/cons to both, and different people have different preferences, but for the particular situation I’m in, softswitch is the way to go
-
Right, I know of a few people, but who's at NAMM in a couple of weeks?
-
@Chownybass and @doctor_of_the_bass definitely are
-

Cioks DC5 on the way to power my new 'mini' board. 12v Trickfish Minnow and 4 other 1590a 9v effects, all on a PT Nano, very cool
