  2. Great tone shaping tool with good DI. Solid buillt with a weighty metal body. Has pedalboard velcro on bottom. Could probably post in UK for not many pennies or collection from Bolton welcom
  3. Brown Girl In The Ring - Boney M
  4. Open to sensible offers on this as I have my eye on something else.
  5. Met Peter today in Sheffield to buy his SA Spectrum. Hand delivered to the venue i’m playing, and a nice chat about pedals and synths! Top marks. Thanks again Peter!
  6. Interesting we all have different takes - I love all three of that lot.
  7. Hi!!! 19mm Spacing!!!!
  8. I really want to keep this but have a few projects at home that need attention so looking to shed a few bits. Wicked pedal with knight fall, tarkin and T65 Octaver. All with individual clean blends, plus a master blend, and a master on/off switch. Effects stack in parallel for an absolute wall of awesomeness. Controls are really intuitive and easy to navigate. Velcro on underside, really wicked artwork. It's a wonderful pedal. I'll wrap box and post carefully. Any questions please shout. Selling cheaper than purchased, price includes postage second class. Can meet between Kettering, Bedford, Stevenage, Farnham areas of UK, or pass to my singer in north London... Drummer west London.... Blurb from cog website: Hellraiser" Custom Bass Multi-Effects Grand Tarkin Bass Fuzz, Knightfall Distortion and T-65 Octave all in parallel. Four level controls for mixing Dry signal, with only one ever active depending on which combination of effects are selected. This is very much an expansion on the concept of the T-65 Octave and parallel sub octave in general. Artwork is an adaptation of the Puzzle Box from the 1987 film Hellraiser, with oversized Moog-style knobs to finish things off.

  9. Just sold James my Source Audio Spectrum in a smooth and flawless transaction. This involved my walking to meet him where he was playing a show in my city. Our ad hoc arrangements came to fruition and we were able to meet right after his show ended at the appointed place and time. Always nice to meet a fellow Basschatter and talk gear (just hope I didn’t deprive him of time to grab food before the evening show). James is a really nice chap and it was a pleasure to meet him. Many thanks; hope you dig the pedal.
  10. Tom had one of my favorite pedals up for grabs (Xotic RC Bass Boost). Quick easy deal, fast postage, all good. Great to deal with. Thanks again
  11. I saw a brand new red 5-string Vigier Passion II in a shop (this was early nineties). Ran home, sold my piano, came back just few days later - and that red bass was sold! I then decided to buy a 5-string MG Quantum SPi Custom. I never liked it so much, but played it a lot. Now I have a red Passion II, although it is a 4-string.
  12. I once saw Dave Mattacks enter the stage, introduce himself to the other members of Lesley Duncan’s band (handing them his business card), sit down and play a flawless set. An absolute god among drummers!
  13. I've been keeping my basses at a friend's house for the past few months so Ive been going to Guitar Center two or three times a week. Played quite a few P basses, several Squier Sonics, a few of the new Fender Standard Precisions, a couple of Player IIs, and some of the American P basses, too. I'm not talking about just playing a few scales, I'm talking about playing along to my ipod, half a dozen songs or more...really getting a feel for the basses. I currently don't own a P bass, so I was getting familiar with the typical Fender stock...and I was definitely surprised by quite a few. Would've grabbed a Sonic had I found one in Graffiti Yellow. Could've walked away with a Candy Cola Fender Standard, too. The P bass has been getting the job done for over 70 years. However, I just picked up my Jazz bass last week...moved into a new place...and the minute I plugged it in I knew why it was special. Extremely comfortable, it almost plays itself, and the tone palette is truly full spectrum...the Turbo Switch is a big plus. So, in reply to the question "Jazz basses, what's the point?" The answer is simple...it's 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 than a P bass.
  14. In case someone is looking for something special 🙂 https://reverb.com/uk/item/90319243-spector-ns-x-black-1984-05-28
  15. Twas the Basic Legend https://www.spectorbass.com/product/legend-5-standard/ 4 string version of this in tobacco.
  16. Ah, you’re too kind @eude . I’ll try to live up to that kindness. The Monzo I tried was excellent. I didn’t buy then as I couldn’t quite justify having 2 cabs both doing basically the same job for me and I didn’t want to sell my Silverstone. (Serial #1, I am proud of that…) The Goodwood is tempting me though. I wonder if I could use it to busk with if I rig up some kind of battery powered amp solution. I use the Everse EV8 for that presently, but it does compress hard when I push it. It also is a bit shoutier if I push it hard. Very portable though. But a plastic cab never sounds the same as properly braced wooden bass cabinet.
  17. That sounds more like a confidence issues than a competence issue?
  18. Oih, i like that.
  19. Or..... 1. That bloke out of Foo Fighters 2. That bloke out of Nirvana 3. That bloke out of Blink 182 4. That girl out of White Stripes 5. That Muppet
  20. My strings arrived today (well, yesterday, technically - but I got the delivered to the Amazon locker at work, and they arrived after I left work). Happy to report that all are fine, look legit and all the Players Circle codes worked.
  21. Today
  22. Generally I've found that the sound breaks up more as the bias is turned to the right. I need to spend more time with it to see if that's always the case
  23. I bought it here from our honourable @graham1945. The 19 mm string spacing of the 35" neck was the thing, this is a very playable and stable instrument. I also like the sound of bartolini pickups very much.
  24. Just bought a Tascam recorder from @andysg42, aka Andy, who's absolutely brilliant to deal with. Here's what I mean... I sent Andy a PM yesterday morning and after 2 PMs, everything was agreed and sorted out. Next thing I know is that the Tascam arrived safe and sound here at Silverfoxnik Towers this afternoon. Perfect! So, deal with Andy with complete confidence, Folks. 👍 Thanks again Andy, and here's to the next one. 😊 Cheers, Nik
