    I tried a Casio PX-S7000 recently. The sounds were great. Action is very playable deep into the keybed given how compact it is, but it is unavoidably light so not for everyone. Good for gigging in terms of weight but you'd definitely have to baby it. I'd have one at home for sure, the industrial design is excellent. Going back to @Hellzero's comment earlier on VSTs, I don't think any stage pianos or probably even high-end home hybrids are going to match the depth and realism of the best software ones. Of course you pay a price in terms of convenience - that's what puts me off Korgs, which are essentially a Linux PC in a keyboard frame. They have huge multilayer samples but you have to wait ages for them to boot up.

    We had a really good night last night, with lots of friends there, at a venue not far from me where we have celebrated various milestones with my bands over the years. Just what we needed really. This year's been really difficult for the band with a change of guitarist and all the things that led up to it, plus our drummer's serious illness and us running with a replacement. The band as it is now is really enjoying itself.

    From my own viewpoint, I never liked the ABM series due to the mix of sliders and dials. Somehow this seemed wrong to me and less intuitive because of it. I may be in the minority, but I always quite liked the MAG series amps and the Rootmasters are great. The cabs are awful though.

    You are right - a good reminder. The Casio piano was on my original list, having tried one in Martin Phelps music in Croydon, about three years ago. I need to pop over and try it again.

    The Shen SB 100 that I use for jazz and my pathetic attempts at bowing in my lessons and orchestra is a D neck while the old Czech ply that I play for bluegrass has an E flat neck. Not too much of a problem because when I play bluegrass I rarely play anything higher than C on the G string and find it easy to switch between the instruments. As Beedster said above, listening to yourself and making adjustments as you play is the way to go and don't worry about it too much. So far that's worked for me but I agree that it would be a problem farther up the neck and in thumb position.

Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos, acoustic grands and uprights Hammond, Farfisa and Vox organs. It even has Mellotron and Chamberlain samples, plus strings, harps and guitars. This version also has drawbar control. It’s a classic in its own right but still updateable using the Nord site and sample library. Included is the keyboard, user manual, mains lead, damper pedal, sample library on CD plus a nice heavily padded gig-bag. I have added a custom ‘half moon’ switch to control the rotary speaker simulation from the keyboard rather than using a foot switch like an old Hammond. If you collect in person I’ll also include a stand. The price is non-negotiable and sorry no trades. It is feasible to post but only in the UK and at your cost and risk. See pics - I’ve not gigged it but have used it in rehearsals occasionally. To be honest it’s been used at home as a piano and the other wonderful sounds have been wasted! Selling as I use my old Korg live as I’m not worried about it being knocked about and I’m going to buy a simple piano for home use.

    Well, I never thought it would happen... I got rid of my Spark amp and replaced it with playing electric guitar through my Fender Bassman amp and using a Headrush MX5 multi I picked up second hand. I started to experiment with the Headrush and it's pretty good for bass too so my Boss ME-90B is put to the side for a while. Well, a nice small multi effects pedal is great, but I wanted to add wireless. I've got a vocal effect pedal too, and I plan to get one of those MXR Synth pedals too... So I needed a board. This is what it looks like today, with space to spare for the synth. I could even mount the wireless transmitter for my IEMS on here but I think that's overkill potentially. I'll practice and gig this board next week and see how it compares to the trusty Boss ME-90B.

    Sounds great to be fair. I have a bitsa P that I'm forever changing the pickup in, I really rate the GZR but it's probably not a worthwhile change over what you have already.

    Sontronics mic's are excellent for the money and they are a nice company to deal with. I have a Solo and a couple of their pencil condensers. However, many of their mic's are made in the PRC to the company's design/specs and some are modified or part-built here. Nothing bad about that - China is quite capable of making quality products, provided costs aren't cut to the bone - but "made in the UK" is stretching things a bit.

    I have one of these, I had to get something bigger to fit my bongo, its the only one the bongo fits in well as its got a bit of a spikey headstock. In fact all things fit in it apart from the Sei 42", that doesn't fit anything. If you say how big the mayones is I will tell you if it is long enough

    Set of rack mount bars for a GK RB amp. I haven’t owned a GK amp for several years but they would have come off of either a 1001RB II or a 700RB III as I owned both. The bars are complete with all parts including screws. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

    I fancy one of these, does anyone know if it has sufficient internal length to fit my Mayones Jabba? It has a slightly longer scale length than 34 inches and doesn't quite fit in my Contego gig bag.

    Up for sale is my 2011 Loar LH-309-VS archtop guitar in great condition. The stock P90 pickup has been replaced with a Kent Armstrong Vintage Icon Alnico II one, with the pots replaced with CTS ones, and a Switchcraft jack used. The neck angle on this one is perfect, and the action is currently 2mm at the 12th fret, with scope to go lower if required. A wonderful sounding guitar, both unplugged and through an amp, that plays really well. Collection from Beccles, Suffolk much preferred. I do have a box so posting is an option.

    I don't see what's wrong with adding a second Orange cab if the OP likes the sound of the first, and the impedance works for the amp. Who cares if it's isobaric and therefore not the most efficient use of drivers? It's still compact, goes reasonably loud and since the drivers are neo it's not particularly heavy. Just think of it as a 112 that sounds how it sounds.
