  2. This is basically what I do. One of my bands is a 7-piece and I have the Behringer XR18 with 6 Aux sends. Each of the other band members gets their mono IEM or wedge monitor feed from one of the Aux sends, and I use the main mix for my own IEMs (cable running from MAIN R output into the back of my transmitter) - I haven't tried it in stereo yet but it's got to be done! Nothing you do to the main mix will affect the Aux mixes but any changes to channel input gains will affect everyone. The 1U rack unit at the bottom is a Midas DN4816-O. An ethernet cable runs from the XR18's Ultranet socket to the back of the Midas, which I have set up to (mostly) output the corresponding channel immediately after the gain control - effectively an 'analog split', but done digitally. The sound guy/gal can just wire up the outputs of the Midas and do a completely independent FOH mix. (OT: You'll see that there are holes in the XR18's rack mount ears. I made these with a step drill and fitted rubber grommets, and they are big enough to pass an XLR plug through. It took a fair bit of effort but has been well worth it for the convenience.)
  3. Stop Breaking Down - The Rolling Stones
  4. I Love The Sound Of Broken Glass - Nick Lowe
  5. I downloaded this a couple of days ago, and yes, it's excellent, as is 'Supermassive'. I'm working on a Sound Design & Transitions project for someone at the moment and I have found a use for 'SpaceBlender' already. Defiantly worth downloading, as is the Valhalla reverb/delay FX. 👍
  6. Bakelite saddles? I've never seen that before. How do they sound? Or is that a weird question.
  7. I have the glittery, starry night 5 string version of this. I was thinking it could be a gimmick but I will say it is actually really handy. It is now my family jewel and the best bass I've ever owned really. It stacks great with pedals too on top of it all. Really glad and yet more unique than the already superb Stingray Specials.
  8. With apologies for not having read all ten pages to find this out: Is the order book for these amps now closed? Or is it possible to add my name to the list? A 100W Stoneham seems like a good spot for me. Depending on price, of course.
  9. Found it…
  10. 100% agree, the clover tuner and decal was the first red flag for me. Every pre-TV decal late 66-68 block inlay Jazz bass that I've seen has the lollipops.
  11. Happy birthday!!! I had no idea, but it turns out I too am a Grand Master. That's bait.
  12. Yep! Crazy lightweight for an Ash bodied Jazz.
  13. How can you tell that's a slab fingerboard, it's got binding around it? 🤔
  14. There’s an ointment for that
  15. Thank you for the suggestion. I present the bass guitars as honest as possible. No effects, no compression. Just the bass directly into Focusrite Scarlett > my iMac. But my recording equipment and skills are nothing to write home about. 😉 On the twelve string builds with two separate outputs i did demonstrate how you can blend a clean signal with a distorted one. Because that was the purpose of the separate outputs. Plus of course with the Brooks QB, I demonstrated the SansAmp and the Compressor because they are part of the actual bass itself.

  17. It did, and by listening to an album from limewire or wherever you were probably more likely to buy the real thing from those artists so it made more money for the artists, not just the industry. Generative AI has the opposite effect, if it is generating the music itself, it will still make money for the industry, but less oportunity for artists.
  18. I suspect you're probably the only person to 'download to try' then go and spend money on the same thing you've already downloaded. If you could provide the evidence for stating that illegally downloading music etc. factually provided income for the industry, I'd love to see it!
  19. Gear4Music have it at the same price but with free delivery so £6 cheaper, est delivery later this month although that might be a lie as Thomann (same price as Andertons) also say end of June: https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Behringer-FLOW-8-8-Channel-Digital-Mixer/3N67?utm_campaign=surfaces_across_google
  20. In one sense, that's admirable. On the other hand, unless this is clearly marked as such, it could end up being sold as genuine. I've mentioned it several times on this thread, but two of my vintage basses sold with changed parts clearly mentioned to new buyers. Unfortunately, they have subsequently appeared for sale with all of those things not mentioned. The price was almost double (in one case, triple) what I'd sold the basses for. I know Limelight clearly mark their fakes, but Bravewood doesn't. I think I'm more supportive of the former approach than the latter.
  21. I’m in the ‘hair covering the headstock’ camp I’m afraid. 🤣 Si
  22. That's brilliant, I hope it works out for you. The perceived wisdom is to always have spare channels but sometimes a tool is just right for the job. Behringer are a funny old company. They still make a lot of stuff they've been producing for years and I think the Flow is made to replace their analogue desks but it does knock up against the X12 price wise. The X Air 12 does offer a whole world of extra capabilities but has the same learning curve as the x18 mixers and the same lack of physical controls. Not everyone will want to develop the technical expertise to run the X-series of mixers and I suspect that there would be a real market for replacing all their small analogue mixers with a Flow version. I think there is a lot of merit in simplicity and it is one of the joys of playing with a duo or trio to go in with a simple set up and just get on with playing.
  23. This is a deliberate attempt to make a 70's Jazz bass to look Vintage at a fraction of the cost, he is not trying to sell it as a Vintage Jazz but offering it to anyone not in a position to afford the real deal but want to have a bass close to a Vintage looking one But if you had never seen a Vintage bass before or what to look out for then you could easily be fooled...
