I can’t speak to your problems and I think a medical professional will be the best bet. Personally my bass playing, posture and overall mental health has improved after going to the gym for the last year.

A great service. Just sold a bass guitar and the transaction was seamless. Great communication, they provided the packaging and postage, they gave me a fair price and my payment was promptly paid into my PayPal account. I would definitely use them again!

Ibanez 5 string Medium Scale SRMD205. Only 3.3kg!

I left one band amicably nearly 20 years ago as we weren't getting any gigs and I'd got the offer of a quite busy club band. The band got a replacement, but some time later they couldn't get in touch with him for a gig and they asked me to dep, which I did. Subsequently they found that he'd died.

We don't allow What's it worth threads so they get pulled. They get a friendly message explaining why.

The clearout continues. This is a stock Ibanez SRMD205. 32 inch medium scale 5 string. Now discontinued by Ibanez. Specs: 45mm nut 18mm bridge string spacing PJ pickups 2 band EQ with blend. 9V powered. Matt black finish. WEIGHT: only 3.3kg being roughly 7.2lb Currently fitted with £100 worth of Dunlop Medium Scale Flatwounds. They went on in 2023 so should be good for another 5 years if you look after them properly. They are a traditional sounding flat, not a modern fizzy, metally nonsense sort of flat! I have owned this from new and it's done a few jazz gigs. I bought in May 2020 from GAK. I liked it so much that I had a pair of them for a while. This one was by far the lightest though. The other was quite a bit heavier. The other one went to fund a PS5 (sodding kids). The matt black paint has a few marks here and there but nothing particularly visible. Nothing that goes through the paint. Selling for £250.00 ono. Collection from Northants near J16 on the M1. I do not have any shipping boxes and as my local (was PMT) closed there isn't anywhere I can get any. Not looking for any trades, I need house room. Thanks.

What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...

Actually, that's just given me an idea, next time I'm asked to play in the low B territory I'll just plug in to a fart pedal... nobody would notice the difference, might even be an improvement on my usual playing! -

I'm happy with the main stuff - instruments, amps, cabs etc - that I've had for probably 10 years, and I've enough plectrums, strings etc to see me out I reckon. So unless a new battery for a clip-on tuner counts...I'm still in.

Pickup mods to a bitsa Jaguar. Advice please.

Worth noting that shielding the cavity would probably solve the hum issues -
I’ve got flats on 7 jazzes, wouldn’t have it any other way

Only had two flawed gigs as "bass player", so this is about my classical "career" as a pipe organ player: An ideal gig is one where I deliver the goods, or better, and afterwards someone comes over and says something along the lines of "I just learned something new about Bach".

Flats on a Jazz can sound wonderful. Do whatever sounds good to your ears - you might even find your signature sound. Best of luck on your journey.

In response to OP question, 'does anyone have one', I have several and would happily buy another if required. Agree with lots of what has been written above: try the bass before purchase, try different strings, etc. Never had a problem with the B string on any of my Fenders, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.

My ‘72 Jazz makes nice noises with TI Jazz flats. Before those it had LaBella DTB Flats.

It's not great is it? Hopefully this won't offend anyone, but the Fodera's I've tried have been so boring sounding it was outrageous that such a well crafted set of instruments would sound so anodyne. Kind of like Dingwalls actually. The type of music Mudvayne make needs what one might call a "character" bass. For example, you play an Alembic, Wal, Status, Warwick and you know exactly what they sound like and what you're going to get. They have definable sonic properties for the most part that you struggle to replicate with other instruments. I was always surprised he went to Fodera as to me, it seemed like a mistake as they're exceptionally well crafted, instruments that sound like nothing.

Weird. There was a thread in Bass Guitars about this (which I assume was posted by the seller), looking for info & advice about the bass. I do know a little about MIJ Squiers so I contributed, but the thread seems to have vanished now. Hope the seller didn't accept £43 for it...

I've had plenty of my ideal gigs back in the day when I was in my mid 20's and lived in Hong Kong and gigged a lot on the ex-pat scene PA & back-line provided, so only needed to carry my gig bag. A busy pub with an appreciative audience who wanted a good time. Free alcohol all night for the band. Decent pay. Spending my gig money in my favorite bar afterwards, usually accompanied by our drummer. The sort with Filipino dancers where you buy them expensive soft drinks for the pleasure of their company. Enough left for a taxi home. For just me in case you were wondering about the above. I'm now much older and drive to gigs so don't drink or go to any bars afterwards.

Nice. I’ll keep an eye out for it if you decide to sell it…. I don’t need another bass of course……
