Henry is a great under rated player.
That G&L 2000E He uses is the bass i always wanted,
its a very early 2000E, i did try and get some info
from him about a year or two ago by sending him a message
via his site, never got a reply so dont think he uses it as its not been updated
at all, some live footage of him with paul weller here.

this makes me feel very old, in 1989 essex county council ran a "rock school" weekend for young musicians, henry Thomas came and taught bass and deidre cartwright did the guitars, henry Thomas made all the bass players play a bit so he could assess us, he made some notes, I saw his notes later on and next to my name was "v.good" - that still makes me chuckle, then i got to play in deidre cartwrights band for the rest of the weekend, having been told I was "v.good" she handed me some sheet music, I pointed out I could not play a note, she said just jam on "g" and then go to "e" when I nod..... oh and I got to play henry's g & l bass, the first active high spec bass I had ever played at that time, it was amazing. in his way henry Thomas was probably as important as mark king in the early 80s to the british bass explosion

i found him very inspirational. At the time I was slowly realising that the six string was not for me and his bass was the first I really noticed.

That show was a real tv gold nugget to a wannabee musician. I remember Ian Paice on it and John Taylor fluffing a demo of Planet Earth.

Was that the Dynacord BS412?

If so, I used one for about 8 years in the 80's and 90's. A wonderful sound, but heavier than a large planet. That's when I started using dolly boards for my gear.

Do you count any nationally/globally well-known musos amongst your farcebook friends? Dave Swift, for example. He/they might be able to help?

WOW, i remember all of this. the Gary moore bit sticks in my mind the most but i do remember the Indian rhythm bit as well.

Gary Moore was unhappy with the way his contribution was cut and used over several episodes. He thought he'd be featured in one episode. Christ! His rig had serious noise. Series Two also saw Deidre playing the Synth-Axe before cutting to... Allan Holdsworth absolutely tearing it up on one. Re. 'Minder' theme - think that was Mo Foster.

Oh yeah, the noise was the most memorable part of the GM clips.

I think you are right about Mo Forster. Back then I wasn’t interested in bass, so one bass played sounded the same as another lol
