Woodinblack
Has "Every lyric written by Ronnie James Dio" been mentioned yet? Not so much factually incorrect, more totally inconherant. with such gems as "Ride the tiger, You can see his stripes but you know he's clean, Oh don't you see what I mean? " - no Ronnie, we don't. " Race for the morning You can hide in the sun 'till you see the light " " It's like broken glass You get cut before you see it " " You've got wings of steel But they never really move you You only seem to crawl " " Don't hide in doorways You may find the key that opens up your soul "

Stub Mandrel
There's wheat in the field And water in the stream And salt in the mine And an aching in me I can longer stand and wonder Cos I'm driven by this hunger So I'll jug some water, bake some flour, Store some salt and wait the hour When thinking of love, Love is thinking for me And the baker will come And the baker I'll be I'm depending on my labour, The texture and the flavour Hey! I can no longer stand and wonder Cos I'm driven by this hunger So I'll jug some water, bake some flour, Store some salt and wait the hour Come on, Mr Marriott, you'll either need some yeast or a sourdough culture or your bread is going to be disappointing at best.
Bill Wy,Aye,Man
Belinda Carlisle would gain more credibility if she re recorded her hit as Hebburn (Tyne and Wear) is a Place on Earth. Likewise Bryan Adam's with, (I'm Finding it Hard to Believe) We're in Hebburn 2

We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll A mamba is a bad tempered, highly venomous snake and Marconi would deeply regret messing with it. And that's before we get into a discussion about suitable foundations for large urban conurbations. I think I once read 'We built this city' being described as a 'bunch of people in a room with a synth and a big pile of coke...and only one of them knows how to work the synth'. That said, I still like it.

Actually, maybe this is understandable if we take into account what psychologists 'the endowment effect' where we place higher value on things we already posess, and will need non-rationally high incentive to relinquish them. Perhaps it is more easily explained via this diagram : 2

beely
A slight geographical error from "Wagon wheel". If you were actually "a-heading west from the Cumberland gap to Johnson City, Tennessee", you'd be going in the wrong direction. Painy
From Wikipedia:- The sheet music used the line "in this ever-changing world in which we live in" as part of the opening verse of the song. In the Washington Post interview more than 30 years later, McCartney told the interviewer, "I don't think about the lyric when I sing it. I think it's 'in which we're living', or it could be 'in which we live in', and that's kind of, sort of, wronger but cuter," before deciding that it was "in which we're living.
