Jonesy 208 Posted June 5, 2020 Did these come out today? Looks like you had to be quick at Andertons, but maybe they'll get a new delivery in soon. https://www.andertons.co.uk/squier-paranormal-jazz-bass-54-butterscotch-blonde The guitars are also pretty lush 😮
songofthewind 772 Posted June 5, 2020 Take the guard off that and it would look nice!
Jonesy 208 Posted June 5, 2020 Just seen that they're for pre-order and expecting to ship in June. Pretty tempting!
AndyTravis 6,680 Posted June 5, 2020 Gutted - needs a tele headstock

Muppet 414 Posted June 5, 2020 I really like it - comes in white blonde too. Stack knobs on that control plate is great. Reminds me of the blackguard blonde 60th anniversary precision.
AndyTravis 6,680 Posted June 5, 2020 It’s a more or less carbon copy of the RS guitarworks contour 54 which has been knocking about for at least 10 years. Ive always fancied one but they’re about £3000 - meant to be lovely though.
BassApprentice 480 Posted June 5, 2020 Looks good in White Blonde too
ezbass 2,592 Posted June 5, 2020 Headstock notwithstanding (it’s just wrong), I like that.

It’s got the rounded heel so without modding, it wouldn’t be a direct fit. but a decent luthier could do it - can’t cope with that headstock shape on the 51 ish aesthetic. One of the reasons I didn’t go for the 60th p
theyellowcar 27 Posted June 5, 2020 Yeah, I’m into the white. Absolutely do not need another bass though.
borntohang 183 Posted June 6, 2020 Really like it in white but the pale maple necks aren't doing it for me. Would be nice with a vintage tint though.
Jus Lukin 2,613 Posted June 6, 2020 I can't work out if I dig it or not. I always picture some company hopeful rummaging in the parts bin with these kind of models. 1
pst62 176 Posted June 6, 2020 I'll pass on that.

I wouldn't bank on it - the description says "A UNIQUE '54 PRECISION/JAZZ BASS HYBRID!" - so presumably they only made the one.

lksmks792 23 Posted June 6, 2020 Liked it when I first saw it yesterday, but for some reason a lot less looking at it again today. I definitely think the headstock should be tele shaped. (I know this is not the place for this, but boy do I like that cabronita thinline tele 😍 , pity it doesn't have filtertrons )

skychaserhigh 35 Posted June 6, 2020 It's a bit of a Jazz...a bit of a Precision...it's just a bit odd...

It's not actually the colour - I prefer the CV style poly necks for some reason and they don't gloss the unfinished ones unfortunately. Think it's just familiarity from starting learning on an old Jazz with a gloss neck.

They should have spent a bit more time where the scratchplate meets the neck pickup. That just doesn’t work. It looks poor.

Grahambythesea 260 Posted June 7, 2020 Interesting that the Paranormal series guitars do have tele shaped headstocks. 🤔
