1. Always had a lot of time for 7, and 12/8 bowls along nicely. I love the slow 5/4 figure on bass near the start of Keith Jarrett's Survivor's Suite.
2. Climax Blues Band?
3.
I'd be lying if i said i didnt take some influence from bright size life.
That's one reason I liked it, right up my street!
4. Voted. I really like Asambique's one this month. The ambience brings to mind early ECM recordings by Ralph Towner and Pat Metheny.
5. Excellent comms throughout. Wasn't the biggest transaction (a couple of cables), but all was perfect. Wouldn't hesitate dealing with Paul again. cheers MBA
6. No love for the theme for Bergerac yet?
7. I'll take 2 of the 10m jack-jack leads please
8. Wouldn't it be easy to file deeper notches in the saddles to stop that happening?
9. If they did a torzal twist with fanned frets, that would really mess with your noggin!
10. You could use an active circuit to balance the relative volume of the pickups out. Woofer problem solved.
11. I see. I'm fairly new to this mullarkey. I'm glad it exists, as this is the first time I've really composed stuff, or written any kind of lyrics, and it's giving me something to help my drumming get tighter (a relative term, I should note!), and being time-bound, it makes me get stuck in. I'm finding it a nice diversion while my band isn't up to a whole lot.
12. For me, it's the singer/guitarist and the drummer. We're a 3 piece
13. Voting's slow this time round. If this was a P vs J bass poll... just imagine!
14. I found the panning distracting too
15. Voted! Some people have put a lot of hard work in to this (not me!) Anyone else noticed the plethora of flat 5ths this month?
16. Excellent post^
17. ooh! is it voting time yet?
18. I feel exhausted after listening to that, never mind playing it! Good job, as usual, Again.
19. Could be the Speakon connector on the cab. If one of the wires is off, that would do it.
20. Thanks for the kind words. I was keen to see how the new emg pickups sounded in that bass. About the same as the other ones but a bit louder. I guess flats even things out a bit.
21. Wasn't familiar with it but see just what you mean. He's quite Ebenezer Goode. I'm not that funny, well, not on purpose!
22. Hi all Here's my effort, or lack of, this month: https://soundcloud.com/julian-moss-511168525/slow-burning-joke It's a bit all over the place playing-wise, and the vocals have come out more mockney sounding than I thought they would. In my defence, I did live in Watford for 35 years...
23. Good work there by Lurksalittle too!
24. Nice playing all round, loved the 'bone solo.
