1. Gulp!, I thought the deadline was the end of the month. Even with some cowbell on (as requested by Mrs MBA) it is going to sound pretty half arsed, even if I can mix it in time Great work again Skol, gonna take some beating once more!
2. Nice playing, the slightly swinging feel set it apart. Very cool!
3. Is it really that bad?
4. Do you mean silica gel?
5. Just looked up the 18-8 bit. That's a grade of stainless steel (a2).
6. Sounds like the earth is off the amp somewhere. The house RCD should trip if there is current being diverted though you to ground, assuming your house has one, of course!
7. @blisters ,sounds like a plan, I'd give it a go. Shiny fret markers are pretty cool. It's nothing that can't be undone if you don't like it.
8. That's flippin' epic Leonard! Love it.
9. OMG the Gert Jonnys from the Dansbands link is Skank Delvar!! Do I win something?
10. Word Up by Cameo or the bass breakdown from Stone Cold Bush by RHCP maybe, if I'm toting a fretted bass and the slap police aren't around
11. I've got a title, and 3 sections in my mind. Need to get something down, but my drumming chops aren't up to playing what I have in mind . Might have to get a proper drummer in to do it. Won't be any singing this time either, as that didn't seem to go down that well with my last effort
12. The Weather Report one in blue with red letters on it shows an amazing lack of effort. I think the album may be called "Weather Report", really? After 12 albums, that's all they could come up with?
13. Just fretted bass with flats into the CTM15, DI box on the speaker output, much cleaner than last months EUB effort. A slightly reflective mood this time - I had a bit of a headache! 14. Thanks Mr Grey, I lost track of this month (my first ever, too!) and missed the voting. What a twit. Got the same number of votes as the composition challenge. I'm seeing a pattern emerging. (*thinks - must try harder!*)
15. Hi Bob I was also wondering which basses you kept. I can't believe it's just the ones in your sig... (I just realized ALL my current basses were bought from Bob!)
16. Yeah I think on reflection it was highly unlikely American stuff from the 70s would be metric. The 4-48 size is a number 4 size with 48 threads per inch, quite fine. That would make it a UNF thread.
17. I imagine the air coming out of the port would be enough to pump a lightweight head right off the top of it too!
18. does anyone know if the reliability issues on the BG 250 range has been sorted on the current builds? I've got a friend about to pull the trigger on a new one (2x10) and would love to offer some reassurance! Cheers MBA
19.
You could just turn the cab upside down.
We have a winner!
20. I was lucky enough to support Laetitia Sadier at Oxford, and the band were all quite charming. That last album was beautiful to watch them do live. Great p-bass with flats sound on the album. The bass player Palm muted for the whole gig as he had to string with rounds, not having any spare flats on him when he bust a string the previous night... Still sounded good though!
21. May we infer from the above that the G2 Midget and G3 Super Midget play nicely together? I've only ever paired them with the CTM 15W, so they were never worked to any great excursion.
22. Sounds like shorter grub screws would do the trick. If they are m3 thread, I've got some nice stainless ones you can have. Alternatively you could take the saddle off, wind the screw down so it is flush with the top and either hacksaw, Dremel or file the other end off flush. Now as you adjust the saddle the head will be recessed. Job's a good un!
23. Looks like the Hohner Steinberger system. You slide the saddle under string tension then lock all the saddles with sideways force using that grub screw visible at the side of the bridge.
24. No, as per the quote in your post, you fret the string at the first AND last frets to use the string as a straight line. Then you can see the relief properly.
