1. Do I win anything for not having heard of one of them?
2. I don't think I've seen one second hand yet.
3.
change to flats
Not this! I've recently changed to flats and find there is more friction, not less. I really don't think that would help.
4.
Have embedded the vid for you Beautiful instrument.
Cheers for that, now I can't view it on my Kindle Fire!
5. I've never heard those sounds from an amp. Sure don't sound happy
6. I put guitar into my Ashdown CTM15 and into a BF Super midget and it sounds good. The tweeter needs turning down a bit if using a lot of drive, but you could easily gig it. You're never going to get cone breakup, but pushing the power stage sounds cool.
7. The sockets look like Molex kk series connectors. Widely available, though the crimp tools aren't cheap. Any decent electronics tech should have one though.
8.
You'll be fine! You also get the award for best tribute act band name!
Even better than the Alter Eagles that were playing in Paignton when we played there?
9. I left one band because the keyboard player liked the Beautiful South.
10. Isn't that an Electrovoice logo upside down on the dust cap in the photo?
11.
Or indeed the one about getting it on with his sister.
I don't know either of these, but am willing to be edumacated!
12.
Just soldering a capacitor in there isn't going to make it into a passive bass. Even if the pickups are capable of working purely passive, for starters you'll need to come up with a way of cutting the power. Then you're going to have to find a way of disconnecting the pots from the active circuit and switching in your capacitor. Got to say, I'd be more inclined to just leave all the tone controls in their centre detent position (i.e. neither cutting or boosting anything) and have done with it.
OP is only wanting to add a passive tone control after the active bit, but without a pot, just the effect of it being fully turned off.
13. Initially just wrap the legs around the signal and ground wire at the output socket and see if that gives you the effect you want.
14. I've had cortisone injection which took about 6 weeks to clear the triggering, and lasted about 4 years.I had it done in hospital, and it hurt like help having it done. When it came back, I put off seeing the doctor, knowing what I was in for. Eventually, I got it done by my g.p. and it hurt a lot less, he used a smaller needle, I think, but it is back again after probably 2 years. Also, I was given a slightly different explanation of my condition to the one above, that the growth was on the tendon rather than the pulley, and it is this that snags in the pulley. Same effect but not exactly how NJ described his.
15. If the strings are very new they will lose a fair bit of the zing just with playing. Embrace the difference!
16. As, shucks! Thanks for the kind words!
17.
Sure, MBA, I'm up for that ! The band is Charms Against The Evil Eye. LD
Cool! Do say hello, I'll be the shortest person there, sporting a blue bass.
18.
I'd be very interested if it was available as 4 ohm 😟 My valve amp will go to 2, but my other amps (like many) only go to 4 and I wouldn't want to have different cabs for different heads. As a one cab solution, I think BF may have a limited market of players who'll go for it because of this.
I'm sure it would be plenty loud at 8 ohms
19. My lot are playing the Jericho Tavern Thursday (21st), say hello if you're about. I think we're on third out of 4. Cheers MBA
20.
I`ll drop this in here, as bad as Flea`s version of the American national anthem was, nothing can top this godawfull rendition of God Save The Queen...............take it away Lesley Garrett (skip to 1.20) https://www.youtube....h?v=-cIOH2KTn4c
Wow! I didn't expect that.
21. Has anyone enquired about heft yet?
22. Dad's diagram is a high pass filter, the OP wants a low pass filter. The cap across the signal and ground would do it. No need for a pot or resistor.
23. At the spinning wheel on the seafront. It's the annual Oxford freaks weekend at the seaside, 4 bands,we are on early at 7.30. Will be a bit of a change for the locals, as I think it's mainly covers there. Having said that, we will cover Robyn Hitchcock's Oceanside....
24. Wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I would have preferred a more jaunty tempo but it's not far off jimi's version.
