1.
Problem is I think the lineup would have to be bass/drums/ key+gtr / key+gtr / vox Finding Keys players is hard, finding keys/guitar players is basically impossible.
Ha! That's exactly what my colleague does. He can also play the bass, but doesn't in that band.
2. One of my colleagues is in a Britpop band based in the Midlands and they seem to get plenty of bookings.I'd say it is a growth area. They're called Definitely Britpop.
3. Nice band name.
4. Nice to have someone else to fix your guitar for you on a gig!
5. That's interesting. The photos show that the super chunky looking bit that the strings anchor through is mostly hollow.
6. Have you tried dropping Status an email? They really ought to be able to info you up!
7. The Portasol gas powered ones work well and don't cost the earth. Well worth checking out. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oryx-Portasol-Technic-Soldering-Iron/dp/B00419XT7W/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1458893480&sr=8-5&keywords=portasol+gas+soldering+iron
8. Wise words!
9. Get yersl' downt gym!
10. Yes, that's the spirit! I nearly had it sold a couple of weeks ago, but HIS wife wouldn't let him have any more guitars either....
11. These have HSH config, a whammy and a piezo bridge. I bought it about 12 years ago as it provided a lot of sounds my SG didn't cover, and I didn't have an acoustic at the time. I've since acquired other guitars that fill these slots, so took some photos ready to sell. Now, I've always played it through a guitar amp, and whilst not bad, the acoustic sound was ok, but not amazing, like an average electro-acoustic. For the first time ever, I put it through my PA just to check it was all working. Well, what a difference! All the acoustic nuances were coming through and it sounds VERY good. Far less cheap electro now. It's too nice to sell! So it looks like my plan to get a short-scale or Fender V1 will have to go on hold, as I'm not allowed any more instruments
12. That's almost the twin to my SG Special, but mine is even more faded than that. The original colour was lovely though, I do miss it. It looks great, and I've never tried one, I'm ashamed to say.
13. I had the 450B, and, yes that was very heavy too. They do have a unique sound but I found those pickups a bit weedy. If I had kept it I would definitely have got them rewound. Sold it to DangerBoy of this parish.
14. So, what happened when you put the bass through it?
15.
Sorry guys it just reminds of the awful 60s Italian made basses that look as though they are designed by an accordion maker. The paint job belongs on a souped up Ford Escort!
More like a GT 40
16. Another +1 for the Bronco. I had one in the house for a week and couldn't put it down! £72 off eBay well worth it for an absolute delight. Unfortunately I bought it for someone else :/(
17. Yeah, they bought Genz and got them to do all the work. Possibly : )
18. Does this happen a lot?
19. If Keith Moon had played bass..... ?
20. Looks like a Danelectro, or some other cheapo nasty from the 60s.
21. It's almost as if the Thunderbird shape was conceived with fanned frets in mind. I like the headstock too but think it would look even better with the tuners angled back a bit Warwick stylee. Would look amazing in a heavy rock context.
