I'll have to nominate one of my old bands for worst tune that's up on youtube. A cover of Tomorrow Never Knows featuring 3 "guest" vocalists who had never sung it together before.
I can't seem to put links in here anymore, but if you really are some kind of masochist, put "Mark Bosley Tomorrow never knows" in the youtube search.
I really can't see why HE would have put it out there. Knitting needles in you ears would be kinder...
My lot, Charms Against the Evil Eye will be playing our psyche-tinged pop in the middle of a 5 act evening upstairs at the Wheatsheaf.
Other bands are 31 Hours, Sweet Pink, Flexi and Alan Jaggs.
Looks like quite an eclectic lineup, should prove interesting!
Doors open 8pm £6
Why are these not used in Valve amplifiers? (or are they these days?) I'd have thought it would help in the trend to make stuff lighter and probably have a lower noise floor.
Also seriously, you can take the nut slot lower than you might think on a fretless - pretty much flat to the fingerboard. On some basses you may need to watch the break angle over the nut as you get low. Pay attention to winding the strings low on the tuner post.
Slightly back on topic, did anyone buy the Ear Peace ones, and how are they? My ER20s are getting a bit ratty, and I like the idea of slightly less attenuation than the ER20.
I did some work on one of these last week and thought it was a good quality piece of kit. Very loud and good range of tones available. I would suggest it would be good for metal too. Good value for what will probably be an easy fix.

I'm with BigRedX on this, I think it looks ok. I had a Vox standard bass with the pickup about there and it was pretty nice (DiMarzio P pickup though.)
Aren't some Goodfellow (GB) basses vaguely based on a tidy bum shape at the, er, bottom end?
Death to the Pixies t-shirt from Brixton Academy, not sure if Trompe le Monde was being toured, they deffo played tunes off Bossanova though, so '91-93 sometime, I guess. Still fits, but the colour is now.... charcoal!!!
I saw John Martyn years ago at Aylesbury, the place was really quite empty, but he was superb. By the end the previously lukewarm audience was well into it.
My Lot, Charms Against the Evil Eye will be playing our own brand of Psyche-tinged pop at 8.30.
There will be 3 other bands too, good sound system, finishes 10.30, so not too late for a school night!
Has anyone ever tried an ultrasonic cleaner? I bet that would work really well and take a fraction of the time.
I used to boil, but now soak in meths. Any cleaning process is helped if you have a simple string removal method, like a headless (brilliant) or slotted top-loading bridge.
I find the greatest hazard is caused by straightening the curly end for removal. A couple of bend/straighten cycles can stress a string enough to weaken it.
Cool rails seemed to be the one getting most love when I looked into it. I actually thought the stock one was fine though. I really enjoyed the bass, I didn't want to pass it on to the person I sourced it for.
I had a fretless 6, and like Paulhauser above, the benefit is not really possible to realize, it's very hard to intonate chords properly high up.
If you think about it, a 24 fret 4 string goes nearly as high as a 21 fret 6er

The only way I can get IE to allow use of Quote is to click the reply window to highlight options, then click on the "toggle editing mode" button on the top right of the window to put it into basic mode.
Then click on the Quote button.
I've also found that unless I'm in basic edit mode a number of letters don't show - I have to type really, really slowly - and sometimes it causes IE to crash.
Funnily enough, forums using BB software don't seem to have this problem...

Oh yeah, I was having just the same issues with the slow typing missing letters thing. Well done! Still not sure if it will let me do a link or URL though as all those editing options are greyed out. Can't even put in a grumpy smiley now
I take that last bit back!!
