Just noticed the bass here: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/MARUSZCZYK_Elwood_4p_Multiscale_white.html
Referred to in another thread. Those Delano Pickups look like they might be in the right ballpark size and shape-wise. Don't suppose they are that cheap though!
Anyone tried one of these yet? Always been a sukka for the LP junior double cutaway shape, and been thinking of short scale lately.
Looks like the Antoria brand is getting a bit of a relaunch.

and the front panel chromeness is loverly but the black text on it is impossible to see under stage lighting as the front panel effectively becomes black.

Odd you should say that! My last 2 gigs (gear sharing) were an RM combo and a head, and I found exactly the same issue. It's a bit of a mare on gear you don't know, especially. Bring back the old HH electroluminescent backlighting, I say!
I think the casing can vibrate on these. It might be worth leaning your elbow on the top of it whilst playing the g#. If that is it, I'd wedge a bit of card in it or a dot of silicone sealant.
Most Valve amps do hum a bit, sounds like you are quite lucky with your guitar amps!
If it s really bad it could be a dodgy valve or a smoothing capacitor not doing its job somewhere.
If it is really bad, I'd get it fixed under warranty, better than poking around in it or swapping valves and potentially invalidating said warranty.
Sounds like you scored one for a very good price then! I thought people were getting wise to what good amps these are, and keeping the prices buoyant. They are pretty well made, eminently serviceable, and you can still send them to the chap who designed them for their 30+ year service!
I think the main problem with guitar amp sounds is that too many folks apply far too much gain to their sound which takes all the dynamics out of the playing and sounds to the audience like a fizzy mess.
User error, for the most part, imho.
I had the retro-tone upgrade done on mine. This makes it articulate a lot more like a valve amp and gives a richer low end. My guitarist uses it on the clean channel with a clean ac30 model(Pod) and small amount of compression. Sounds lovely with a telecaster.
Am I the only one on here who thinks it would be a real shame to cover all that nice wood up? Especially the nice neck through and cover detail on the back
