1. I wonder if these class-d amps have some kind of fuse internally on the speaker output, but the phrase "I could smell some electricity fire..." would suggest that it's more than a fuse blown, unfortunately.
2. Simplest thing to do is to Dremel the rounded portion of the Hex key off - hey presto! - fresh hex key with nice square end. (That reads a bit wrong, but you know what I mean!)
3. Really enjoyed this. Great bass face at the start too!
4. Now with a Soundcloud link: https://soundcloud.com/julian-moss-511168525/slowly-sloping-sunset-saunter
5. Can you be sure the 065 on the G wasn't a typo?
6.
all true, but I dont see how that helps the bridge wobbling on the softer mesh transducer.
I guess it depends on how deep the saddle slot is, but could you beef up the thickness of the saddle, say, with superglue, then rub it down to a good fit in the slot so it can't wobble.
7. https://www.dropbox....aunter.mp3?dl=0 Late, as usual, and half as baked. Just no time this month, but it sort of fits the picture vibe. Bears an uncanny resemblance to one of my band's tunes, but that's got words and singing and everything. Less is more, but sometimes it is just less! Will try to put it on Soundcloud later if that's easier for some to listen to, but at least it's here!
8. You could try a thin sliver of veneer the whole length of the saddle slot to restore the height.
9. Well done, it's always good to hear of a happy outcome. And free too!
10. A photo of the issue would be useful so we can see what we're up against. Off the top of my head, would it be possible to swap out the ball on the string for one from an old guitar string?
11. make good use of the mute button when plugging and unplugging. Wouldn't want to pop a nice speaker like that.
12. Watch the power handling of the cab too. If using distorted guitar sounds, it may not be obvious if the speaker is complaining. What is the cab anyhow?
13. My stupid Kindle won't play that file . Do you have it on a Soundcloud page?
14. Have you checked all the speaker mounting screws and rear connector panel are tight and airtight?
15. My s.g. which has had a headstock repair has been on a wall hanger for about 15 years with no adverse effects at all. I think they are pretty safe.
16. Sounds like the perfect solution then.
17. I've just taken down the individual slots with a needle file almost right down to the fretboard when I've done this. You hardly need any clearance from the fingerboard at the nut. You may also find you need a slight shim in the neck pocket to get the bridge down low enough to get the action right. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't.
18. Miles Davis' Bitches Brew. I'd heard so much about how groundbreaking it was supposed to be, but I didn't find it very interesting to listen to. Also Talking Heads Remain in Light. I was trying to put my finger on what wasn't working for me, and realised it was the lack of harmonic movement of nearly all the tracks that I found kind of boring.
19.
I dislike Frank Zappa. Far too smart and tuneless for my taste. I happen to be in a 4 piece band with 3 Zappa fans who constantly quote lines from Zappa songs. Usually the same f%^&ing ones, every f*&^ing week. I believe there is a small possibility they do it on purpose
If I was in your band, I'd do that to you too, if I knew it would get on your wick
20. Thanks for all the input on this folks. Turns out our appearance wasn't as nailed on as I'd been led to believe, as our music apparently "didn't resonate" with the organizer. And I had just about made up my mind that I would do it too! Oh well...
21.
You can tell the case is plywood....
So are Alembics So what?
22. Yes ^ in management terms, a sh!t sandwich!
23. This is it, it can be useful. This clearly isn't a good idea, so I'll leave it. But I will use the "honest feedback wanted - be as brutal as you like!" next time I post some of our stuff, as I find if I've been listening to stuff for long enough to mix it, I lose any objectivity I might have had at the start.
24.
Brilliant!!!!
Ey thengew. I'm 'ere all week y'know!
25. All very odd. The chances of 2 duff pots is slim, but not impossible...
