  2. That may explain why so many seem to be interested more in the bass drum than anything else. Of course, the PA will be set up in an empty room, but the sound tech should have enough about themselves to realise that they need to boost the mids and do it before the concert starts.
  3. As simple as it gets, the tune is a one chorus melody rendering of 'My Foolish Heart' from the 1992 Victor Goines album, 'Genesis'. The bass player is Christopher Thomas who plays it as straight as they come. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/my-foolish-heart-victor-goines/
  4. Not sure who makes these new ones, but I had a Blade Tetra that was a great bass. I think they were made for Levinson in Japan by Tune Maniac.
  5. Any interest in a trade?
  6. I nearly bought a s/hand one in a shop years back but it weighed as much as a small planet. I know the old ones were well thought of.
  7. Musicman Sterling 4H Bass USA & Original Case Lovely example of the earlier Sterling model (not to be confused with the Sterling imports from the East) I picked up in a trade on here this year. Made in the US in 2000 it has a recessed neck plate, three band EQ and slimmer body and neck. This is a rarer version with a black sparkle finish and matching headstock. It comes with original pearloid scratch-plate and a plain black laminated one. It weighs 3.9kgs so a nice lightweight example of this bass. Lovely balance and set up. It’s very easy to play and currently strung with D’Addario 40-100 nickel roundwounds. No issues other than a couple of hard to see dings. Great bass, only selling as it is rarely used since I prefer maple boards. Pickup preferred but I can post in the UK at buyer’s cost. I’ve reduced the price so no offers. No trades other than possible p ex on a Ric 4003.

  8. I’ve just looked. Yeah, 2 out of 3 look good to me and the other one isn’t as bad as mine. The 2x green they have are both ok and all 4x 5 strings, grey and green look good.
  9. Antiquity Bass neck. Bought off Ebay other day, was listed as a jazz bass neck but its a P bass neck profile, was hoping to swap to try a slimmer neck but its the same so no longer needed. Its in great shape. No major knocks or dents to the fretboard or edges etc. Any other questions please message. Bass Neck Rosewood 34" Scale 21 Fret 16" Radius Measurements are in the pictures £35+ postage
  10. Peach Guitars have a few in stock with a picture and weight of the actual bass you are buying. The matching does vary quite a bit, maybe at that price point Cort think that's appropriate? Personally I'd send it back as well. I bought a sunburst Player Jazz from them and was able to select one with no visible joins in the body which also happened to be the lightest. It also came with an excellent set up. Worth a look.

  12. I like your taste,Si. Now I know it's Sherwood Green I can see it right away. Excellent basses made by a very good people. Let's us know how you like it.
  13. Well, seeing you put it through its paces convinced me Flea was going to a good home. It’s served me well. Have fun!
  14. What we've found as a similar type of show is that Sunday afternoons are a great time for people of a certain age. Weve now played a few well attended Sun afternoon gigs and it suits everyone from the band to the audience. Dave
  15. Looking at the 3 that PeachGuitars have currently listed online you can see the pics of each instrument, 1 is well matched, the other 2 are not but are both actually visually interesting so would be acceptable and are arguably unique, but if the book matched finish was important I'd choose the best one off PeachGuitars, but obviously the extra 10% unless you can get them to price match..

  17. Do people still bump on here? It’s been a while
  18. Sad to read the news about Höfner. Such a historic name.

  19. Would wind me up too. Shame the retailer didn’t open the box to check the replacement didn’t suffer the same complaints.
  20. We've done more than our fair share of clubs over the years. Now we only do them now when they virtually beg us to, and only on the proviso that they get what they just saw us do in the pub. At those clubs we go down well. We can't be doing with the old club "cheesiness".
  21. I updated mine but still not played with any of the amp blocks from last time 😂
  22. It's 10lbs, there or there abouts. Balances really well and feels proper solid.
  23. I've had one of these from new (from GAK, RIP!) and I can vouch for their capabilities. Great cab, EXCELLENT price. Recently the bass gallery in London was asking a LOT more for one of these babies.
  24. I just took a look at their website; now there's always going to be some smart Alec that will comment to the contrary, but the whole business seems to be being carried by their proxy association with Macca. Less core instruments than Fender. I was actually quite surprised they had a couple of guitar models and upright basses.
  25. Spray it black. Problem solved.
  26. Yeah, I wouldn't be happy with that either. Maybe try a smaller retailer? They might be able to send a pic first.
