I’d echo some of Kev’s sentiments, at least to the point of waiting for some used Anagrams to popup. If you could get £1100-£1200 for the QC and then could pickup an Anagram closer to £700, that’s a decent chunk of change to free up. If you’re paying the £899, as much as I disliked many elements of the QC I’d say it’s not worth it.

Of course not. But a fifteen cannot realize the dispersion of a ten, or a twelve, which is their primary advantage, while still being able to deliver enough output to fill the stage, leaving the heavy lifting out front to the PA.

The future of amps & cabs - stage props only?

There has been some comparisons between modern high quality 10s and 12s and "traditional" 15s and how these modern drivers can out perform the trad 15s which is probably a valid point that also encompasses modern cabinet designs. Saying that, will a modern high quality 10 or 12 with an 8mm excursion be able to move as much air as a modern high quality 15 with an 8mm excursion? And will a modern 10 or 12 ever actually sound like a modern 15? 15 inch speakers in my experience also have a tone all of their own which I personally like, and I think this still makes them a valid choice for me. Perhaps BF are thinking along the same lines and feel the need to fill a gap in their product line with a new up to date take on a 15 cab ( which they originally did ). These days its an easier sell doing a lightweight 2x15 cab, or a 15 + 12 cab or maybe even a 15 +10 cab( all cab designs TE did back in the day) which will be bigger from the outset, rather than trying to market a 1x15 cab as a compact option. 15 inch speakers sound different from 10s or 12s which still makes them valid tonally imho, and modern neo 15s( like the Faital pro 15-PR400) in particular are a world apart from "traditional" 15s of old. 15s also 'feel' different and I think that's something that's sadly lacking where the bass maybe heard a lot easier these days with modern 10 and 12 cabs, but is no longer felt the same way as 15s can deliver. 🫤

Another one for the discussion: Fender Precision bass 1962 - Matching Headstock Fiesta Red https://reverb.com/item/89351369?utm_source=android-app&utm_medium=android-share&utm_campaign=listing&utm_content=89351369 The seller has a great theory about why a '65+ decal would be fitted on a '62 bass... But of course Fender didn't do such funny things. And patent numbers don't match '62 anyway. An original matching headstock on a 60s precision? I haven't seen them before, but could well exist if someone waved with a bit of money back in the day...

Today, with my funk/blues/soul band we turned up at 7:15, set up quietly (people enjoying their evening) and at 7:55 ran though half a song. Once we’d done 30 seconds, we nodded and went straight into the first track. Compare that to yesterday when I did a dep gig and we ran the entire set before doors opened as well as a full sound check. I prefer today!

They usually swap instruments for this, i think they do it on blood red sky, though I don’t recall what bass edge played - probably the Ibanez short scale

1 Fender Neo Bassman 410 cab in used but cared for condition with a padded cover. Big warm sounding 410 but doesn't lack high end should you want it. I have recently acquired a 610 from the same line, which I am enjoying immensely, so it's time to let this go! Delivery might be possible but would far prefer to arrange some kind of meet up on this. I am trekking around the country a bit over the next few months so anything is possible. Replaced castors a few months ago.

VID-20250503-WA0001.mp4 Played a Salisbury Live gig on Friday at the same venue as @Cat Burrito played last weekend. The room is quite big with a dancefloor in front of a low stage and there are tables and chairs on a gallery area up some steps (this is on the same level as the rest of the club). There were three bands and we were headliners. Our drummer was drumming in the first band and singing in the second band so it was a little weird but we got to see another side of him and both bands were good. There wasn't a lot of audience throughout the evening but enough for it not to be embarrassing and consider it a 'paid rehearsal'. I'd say the fact that there seemed to be very little promotion apart from what the bands put in themselves, the venue is out of town and there's loads going on in Salisbury this weekend contributed to a low turnout. Having said that, the evening was great fun and we got another gig out of it later this year...with a guaranteed audience 👍🏻 Back to my Airwalk Ones (worn out soles but comfy!) Spoke to the other bands' bassist and we had a connection to a local band from the early 90s so that was cool. Short video from the outro to Butterflies (slightly cut short 😬)

I wouldn't set too much store by what audiences say, I've lost count of the number of times that punters come up at the end of a gig and say 'Best band we've ever had in here!'

My JMJ is just as aggressive as any P bass, with the right amp/preamp settings, you’ll be fine with that weapon of choice. Have fun.
