I'm mostlyusing the 2x10 Pure, 4ohm, will an Elf amp for the majority of thef gigs with a loud band. Its Super loud and super light. Sounds great too. -

...following up from that, I bought a piece of Hi-Fi kit last week. The seller listed collection as an option, but eBay instructed him to post it. Fortunately, we worked it out: he cancelled, I got an immediate refund to PayPal, then he re-listed as collection-only, I did the offer, he accepted, and then I went and collected it. -

You're going to have to play some thin notes to get them through that narrow slat!! I saw one of those combos in a music store here in Toronto many years ago. I always thought that it looked a bit odd. Enjoy your new toy. -

My eye (yes, I have two. Don't worry...) was caught by the cool looking lever at the top of the bridge - does this amazingly manly bass have a lever that deploys the string mutes? Bet MusicMan wish they'd thought of that before adding those fiddly tiny metal round screws under the bridges of Classic Stingrays. Seriously impressed by the intonation calibration markings on the bridge as well. If Bang & Olufsen made basses, they would make basses like this. -

^^^ this It’s a beautiful instrument and will bring immense joy to who ever owns it next. tbh, I’m not sure why it’s not had more interest, sunburst bodies aren’t to everyone’s liking I guess, nor are maple finger boards. I’d like it to have gone to someone in the BC community , but I guess I’ll have to speak to Bass Bro’s about a commissioned sale or summat.

Here is a pretty much brand new Dingwall NG3 5 String. I've had this for 2 months, used it for 1 gig, and a couple studio session. Hands down the best 5 string bass I have ever player, but sadly not quite the right fit for me. The action is crazy low and yet the strings ring true and clear. Tone from this thing absolutely beastly. This has all the new upgrades Dingwall introduced this year: - Minimalist bridge - Smaller active/passive switch (for no snags and harder to knock by accident) - Neck binding - String bullets (individual string retainers) Finish is a gorgeous black with subtle sparkle. Matt finished knobs that seem to be rubberized, are super easy to grab mid gig and tweak away. I have all the original case and goodies, plus packaging so all good to get this shipped too - will be £35 to UK (contact me if needing shipped further afield and I can see what is possible). I am sure I will regret this - I was giddy after the one gig I played with it after the sense of ultimate low end power. But I know it will mostly sit in my studio unused for the various projects I am involved with. Feel free to get in touch with any questions.

I have a very nice 83 Fullerton and 82&84 JVs. The 84 was picked from every new Jazz bass available in Denmark St one day in 1984. It’s a great one. Which is better? They are all very lovely and I enjoy playing them, but neither they, nor any other modern bass will, for me, come close to replicating the feel of a worn nitro finish, preferably pre CBS Fender bass. The sticky, thick poly finish wears in a completely different, flaky, and less agreeable way, so they can never look authentic and, as @Steve Browning quite rightly says, the tort is a crime against humanity. It might be 43 years old, but it’s not a vintage bass to me.

I've been having a really good session again today looking at the Silverstone II. Today's progress has been really interesting, using the Silverstone as a pure FRFR solution (I've also been playing with the cabinet from a "standard rig" point of view too). As I have one in for review, the Darkglass Anagram has been providing front end duties along with my beloved and rather ancient Alesis 24 band programmable EQ in to my fave Bergantino B|Amp or my EBS 802. I have to say that Silverstone II takes effects and amp sims admirably! I've dialled in a killer tone on the Anagram which sounds brilliant through both my studio monitors and the Silverstone II. In a live setting, I have the option of sending FOH a different signal, so there's plenty of options for doing that but it's nice to know that what is coming out of the cabinet behind me is a fair representation of what FOH is also getting. For me, this is really important. A very capable and portable solution with plenty of beans on tap! More later

Hi chaps. Up for sale today is this unbelievably good D roc. I purchased this recently from basschat, I wanted to try out fanned fret. I have to say this thing is frikkin unbelievable! I gave it a full set up and cannot get over how stable it is, the action is so low, and i still think it could go a tiny bit more. It is so easy to play with these banjo frets. The multiscale is also amazing and I adjusted to it instantly. The tone is gorgeous. I can see why the dingwalls are so popular, they have created the easiest playing basses ever made. Previous owner resprayed it in a 3k white. Its not perfect very close up. But from a foot away it looks fantastic, and way better without the weird scratchplate sticker. Underneath is a tobacco burst, so the option is there to strip it, or relic it. But it looks so good as it is id keep it. I really don't want to part with it, but my quest for an old p bass has got the better of me and just have to get one. Pics are from previous owner with his permission. It comes with the epic dingwall gigbag, but if that's not of interest id do a deal where I keep it and knock some off the bill. Can post for £20.

Hi all - here's a Pedaltrain Backpack 2 Pouch Case for sale, barely been used. Also included is a Classic JR board (which has a fair bit of mileage on it). Separately the case is £135 new and the board is £139 new (albeit with a soft case). So that's £274 total. I'm selling this for £160 £130 posted within UK. As for pedal board sizes - here's the blurb from Pedaltrain: This case accommodates several board sizes (Classic JR, Novo 18, PT-JR). Smaller Pedaltrain sizes in this group (Classic-JR, PT-JR) will have extra room for storage of cables, accessories, etc.

I purposefully didn’t recommend the Aures2 as I personally found the sound quite disappointing. When I played it (on a GL-30 or GL-10 grand I believe) I could really hear a sort of locational “distance” to the sound: I could really hear that it was coming from the the transducers further back in the piano as opposed to the sound coming from right in front of you when playing acoustically. The other thing is that, as soon as the piano strings are even slightly off concert pitch, layering with the digital engine results in phasing and chorusing.
