  1. Past hour
  2. I've had my Italia short scale bass for eight years. It took some finding but I eventually tracked one down at Richard's Guitars in Stratford-upon-Avon. Since then they have not been advertised anywhere. I did see a used one on the Bass Direct site last year costing just shy of £1000 - about £350 more than I paid new! I'm not sure if they are still being made or imported. I recently had the bass set up by Overwater (I live a ten minute walk from their studios in Carlisle) and it plays a treat - even in my hands!
  3. This is a thing of beauty. Have a bump to the top on me!
  4. This is an actual synth rather than a "synth emulator" like the Boss SY1 / 200? If so, the tracking / lack of glitchiness is incredible - check out IMA's clip above at 12.44 playing a low D on the B string, and (12.55) pulling off onto the low E - effortlessly tracked. +1 ^^ 😅
  5. So where do you get a HW one? I have always heard about them but they seem like noone knows where they come from!
  6. Looking forward to this! I see how nicely responsive it is to IMA's playing like palm mute or staccato notes. Managed to order one. Already sold on prestet 1 and covers alot. Exciting!
  7. Inconsiderate is what I call it . There’s a walnut 4003s (I need the lighter weight) about 4 hours away from me, which makes riding out the GAS a little easier.
  8. Can't beat a Jetglo 4003 IMO. Good purchase. 👍🤘
  9. I'd be happy to post a link once I've tidied it up. It needs a good editing.
  10. It's a wonderful little gadget. I've had mine for over 10 years and it still works perfectly.
  11. I’m not sure if Dawn and Rob are starting to wind down to a proper retirement.
  12. Original (80s) Hohners and Steinberger Spirits were made in the same factory using the same hardware and were essentially the same instruments. As a Steinberger player since 1984, it still amazes me the continuing controversy/ furore over these instruments. They were designed to address various shortcomings of the traditional electric bass and the all wood versions retain a surprising amount of those benefits. Yes, it will feel a bit odd at first but give it a few days and you’ll feel much more at home.
  13. Urgh @police squad you got me GAS’ing again - Rics were my first love as a kid, and I’ve not had one for 15 years… 🤔😬 Looks great 👌
  14. If it has an E or W then it's most likely WMI who made superb budget instruments, either way if you like it and it's £250 then grab it.
  15. How much would postage be please? approximately…
  16. Yes, will function as a standard CD player. You can check out the manual for all it does here: https://www.tascam.eu/en/docs/CD-BT2_Manual.pdf
  17. I’ve only got 2 basses now, one is a Custom Shop Jazz that feels divine, and remarkably just like my old 1964 Jazz. I’ve had truly brilliant USA Standards too, and played some pretty poor/average Custom Shops, including Pinos (dare I say it here ). A few years ago I had a great Mexican 50s P Bass, and a fine AVRI, but I just prefer the quality of the Custom Shop, and don’t need a P and a Jazz as Ps were mostly a gigging bass for me - but if I was still able to gig then the Mex would have been great with a Fralin pickup (and I say that as a person that used to gig with an original 1964 & 1966 P). A lot of Jap Fenders are Basswood bodies - not a huge issue really - but as a traditionalist I prefer alder or ash on a Fender.
  18. Buck Rogers - Feeder
  19. It's a real one.
  20. You'll be able to tell where it came from be the serial number, a lot of Deans were made in the Unsung factory so it may start with US. In general for Korean basses an S denotes Samick, C would mean Cort, I or IS would be Saein (Shine) etc. Unsung made a lot of decent guitars, did quite a lot of Epiphones IIRC.
  21. If it were up to me I'd likely manage with my CQ12; sometimes we'll not get drum feeds and it has 6 outs. However, a couple of the band want to future proof our needs and feel that the £677 X32 is the way forward. Oddly nobody wants a stereo IE feed so I'll likely be the only one doing so.
  22. I played a Pino Precision once. Everything about it was better than any other Fender I'd played. A fantastic bass. Having said that the Standard Jazz bass I briefly owned, about 10 years ago, was good enough for everything I play.
  23. Suicidal were thrash / hardcore crossover so a bit of both.
  24. Today
  25. I imagine it must be difficult to judge what is coming from your headphones and what is coming from the stage. I also assume that it's difficult for the BBC to get the numbers of experienced engineers required to deal with so many live acts. I would guess they're mostly contractors, as this is not something the BBC does very often and I doubt there are many BBC employees who are used to engineering live music. When I listen to Chic in a few weeks I'm hoping the sound will have been remixed and the bass will magically appear.
