Somehow, over the last half a century, 10cc have escaped my attention.

Of course I was aware of them, and some of their tunes, but it's only the last few weeks I've realised what a rich seam they are / were.

Wonderful writing, arranging, performances, lyrics and artwork.

Feel The Benefit is the soundtrack to my life at the mo, and it even has a bass solo around the 9:20 mark. Graham Gouldman is a hell of a player.

I had a live CD of theirs, came with a Sunday newspaper supplement, annoyingly I can’t find it now but it was superb, those great songs made even greater with live performance.

Totally agree.

Great players, vocalists, writers, arrangers, producers, studio engineers…………….the list could go on!

the band I'm in covers 'Dreadlock Holiday' - what a fun song to play.

Staggered that hasn’t been cancelled, tbh!

I had Live and Let Live, back in the day. I still think it rates as one of the best live albums captured on tape.

I agree. Can’t believe I haven’t heard it before now.

You could perhaps replace your missing recording - there is an 11-track live CD from 2007, given away with the Sunday Mail, on ebay, for 99p.  More than one, in fact - so, I shall buy one too.

The Original Soundtrack and How Dare You (along with most Supertramp and late The Kinks releases) were magnificent releases in the popular end of progressive rock. Much creativity and good music on this side of the pond.

Not a bad song on it! and hands down the best version of Feel The Benefit recorded.

And the intro to this is so contemporary - it doesn’t sound like it was recorded by a bunch of Mancunians in 1977, one of whom wrote ‘No Milk Today’ for Herman’s Hermits, while the other sang ‘A Groovy Kind of Love’ for the Mindbenders.

It’s.. mindbending.

Absolutely brilliant band.  I knew nothing about them until I watched one of those 'Behind the Music' style documentaries and became an instant fan.  I'm Mandy Fly Me is a personal favourite but the hits are all great!

Saw the current GG version (with video cameo from KG and members who were in the backing band in the 70s) earlier this year in Hull. A great show and a fantastic collection of songs.
