wateroftyne
Hmm.. not my cuppa tea. Retails for about £1500.
jd56hawk
Not a big fan of Greyburst but I'll try one out as soon as they start showing up.

Maude
With a bit more thought and effort Fender could probably make a half decent BB copy. 😉 4
jonno1981
I like this. That metal control plate/ scratch plate combo is very Yamaha bb. Did he used to play one?

RussFM
I like the features that make this stand out from a standard Precison, but I prefer his old Jaguar!
MungoBass
Watched the video and according to the subtitles it has a ‘sea neck’! 🤣 Made in Mexico?
fretmeister
I quite like it, but a nice dark ebony board would have looked better. £1500 should get you nice lightweight tuners though.
acidbass
Yeah I'd imagine Mexican made. I am guessing this would have sold better at the £500-£800 mark similar to the Masty sig Epiphones. Not sure who is paying £1400 odds for this!

Not many products sell worse at 1/3 to 1/2 of their retail 😉 1.4k for a Mex Fender does sounds like an awful lot of money though. Looks... ok. I don't really like the paint job or the bi-material pick-guard/control plate but it would probably be quite a useful bass to have if you played a lot of genres and needed to fit into different bands without looking too outrageous in any setting. Jonesy
It'd be cool if there was no routing under the pickguard and you could take it off. A P with just a metal control plate would be sexy af! I really like this though, I wonder if there'll be a Squier version like he did for his Jag? Or if it can be played in passive mode?

Jean-Luc Pickguard
I like the control plate. I wonder whether it'll be available as a spare part.

cocco
I love the aesthetic of this bass. I wonder how similar the electronics are to the other 18v fender offerings though.

thodrik
I quite like the video. I generally won't purchase a signature model ('Les Paul' guitars being the exception), however this model feels fairly well thought out. Would be interesting to hear what the electronics and pickups are like compared to other active fender offerings.
martthebass
TBH there's so much signal processing going on I can't tell if it's any good. A 70's Woolworth's bass would sound about the same.... 2
