Got a geeetar??? What you got??

Only 6 string electric guitars I've got at home right now are ones I made for myself (when I get bored, I inevitably start another bass or guitar build!! The guitars are all bare wood builds - including the basses. I spray the Nitrocellulose lacquer finishes on the bodies, and necks, here at home)

This is my main guitar - A Gibson SG special. It's got a limited edition blue/teal flip-flop finish that changes colour depending on the angle it's looked at. Swapped the bridge pickup for a bare-knuckle nail bomb and never got round to putting a P-90 in the neck. Also have a Yamaha les-paul type guitar (AES620), an epiphone SG (first electric) and an epiphone acoustic (first guitar) but none of them love with me cos I have a tiny house with tiny children and nowhere to put them safely....

I own an Epiphone Phantomatic, like this one.  I'd done a few mods, Dunlop Straploks and updated the machines to Sperzel Locking.

Really didn't like the stock pickups - tonally too muchy - so swapped these out and after a couple of ins and outs I settled for a pair of Warman HBAP90s (humbucker sized P90s).  I know Josi and these were stupid cheap, something like £40 a pair, if that.

I suspect that at some point I'll pick up a MusicMan St Vincent HH:

Lovin' the guitars in this thread so here's my current crop. (yep, don't forget Guitarchat!)

Yamaha Pacifica 604 (as good as any Strat!)

Not that I have anything against Strats....

And I absolutely love my Tele... (no beauty shots of this as yet).

Chappell C-101 Classical (bought new 40 years ago)...

Tanglewood dreadnought acoustic. High action, so open-tuned, nice for slide guitar.

Is that at TW300?

Back in ‘93 I was a 15 year old in Andys on Denmark St, learning to set up acoustics on them. If there’s nut file scratches behind the nut, and dodgy notching on the bridge, then it’s one of mine! 🤣

I have a cheap Tele (£120) and a cheaper Strat (£30 used) just to noodle on and add some non bass tones on any home recordings I do.

i did have a good few nice geetars, there are a lot of them knocking around in the used market and I keep getting tempted.

eventually I came to my senses, sold them all and bought a posh bass instead.

i play bass Seriously in a band but just mess around at home on the geetar.

I started out as a guitarist so i've got a few, these are the electrics

the Tele is a mex one, i've done a 4 way switch conversion and recently swapped out the scratchplate for a black one, it's a great guitar, i stupidly sold it to a friend a few years ago but bought it back last year,

the Les Paul was bought mildly butchered and now has Seymour Duncan pickups (JB and a Jazz) and a V/T/Split setup as i'm not a fan of 2 volumes on a guitar.

Next is a custom Superstrat made by Paul Richardson, i bought it very cheap secondhand, it's got an early Floyd rose and a JB Seymour Duncan at the bridge, the body is one piece across the back with a Burr walnut top, it's heavy but sounds glorious, i've had it for nearly 20 years and i'll not part with it.

the red Aria superstrat was my first guitar, it's a surprisingly good guitar, quite versatile.

the  semi is an early Tanglewood, and was bought sight unseen from our guitarists dad (who bought it new) again its a great guitar.

I'll see if i can get a pic of my Acoustics together, today is the 12th anniversary of me purchasing my main acoustic guitar so i need to get some playing done today anyway.

these are the acoustics

Acoustics.thumb.JPG.7a144bc9a0f9f89e86d83072e188e56c.JPG

From Left to right -

McIlroy AS25, bought exactly 12 years ago today, Handbuilt cedar/walnut acoustic, retrofitted with an AER Pickup/mic system. the best acoustic i have ever played, all solid woods and just the most glorious sounding guitar, quite folky sounding but just an all round wonderful instrument strung up with Newtone Heritage 12's which are the only strings i will use on this guitar. this is the most expensive instrument i have ever bought and on the day i bought it the most money i had ever paid for a single item but one of the best purchases i have ever made.

Yamaha DW105c  my first acoustic, has a pickup/preamp and a solid spruce top, currently fitted with nashville strings and tuned a whole step low (d-d) for use with my band.

Gretsch Jim Dandy, 24" scale all laminate small body guitar, bought to get a good bluesy sound for playing in the band, it's got 13's on it and is tuned d-d to compensate, this is a great bluesy sounding guitar and was really cheap from a local facebook group.
