  1. And there's one for sale. Slight bit of profiteering but not really much you can do since you can't buy them new (as it stands)
  2. I realise I phrased that badly 😅 I meant what @martthebass said. The pickup changes seem to lean towards a more vintage sound, which you can get from any number of Fender basses at this price point but the build quality and finish of Sandberg is above them. So you'll happily spend a touch more on pickups.
  3. From reading here, it seems a few have changed pickups. Surely changing the pickups speaks volumes about the build quality and value of Sandberg versus other Fender shaped basses?
  4. Apologies if that came off as a negative, but it is true. I know as I'm one of them! 😂 I'll go in for a nosey, on a lunch break or the like and have zero intention of buying, but I'd still expect the people in the shop to perk up and have a wee chat.
  5. I worked in retail recently, specifically watches, so understand the niche/geeky clientele it can bring. I learnt that you have to appreciate those who are truly interested and will invariably just be in to browse and kill time, but at least have a quick chat with them. Yes, it takes you away from other tasks. Yes, it might not be a sale, but at some point it will be if you do the right thing. Timewasters can be annoying, and I can see that being a big problem in guitar shops, but customers keep the doors open.
  6. Think that's a good shout https://www.coololdguitars.shop/products/1997-fender-japan-pb62-62-reissue-precision-bass-ocean-turquoise-metallic
  7. Not to tempt anyone, but the purple one whilst being sold out, does say available on demand...😅 Might be worth a message to see what that means timeframe wise
  8. Not having much luck with basses just now! Hopefully you find a good one soon enough, such a faff having to return them.
  9. I know these things are very much down to specs and materials, but what sort of price range does he sit in? If I were to commission a bass, being able to support a local guy would be handy!
  10. As above - I am big Vulfpeck and all surrounding projects fan, but couldn't stomach those costs. As basic as they are, they do look cool. However, should you find it's not for you I'll politely take my spot at the front of the queue for first dibs 😂

  12. We're getting truly spoilt for practice tools these days and this could definitely be something to a consider: 5" speaker, 10 watts, bluetooth etc. all for £33.72.... https://www.thomann.co.uk/harley_benton_jamster_bass.htm?glp=1&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA88a5BhDPARIsAFj595jCjrn8fNWCfbtg1J3IYs16HynGWPhzbweEzzX4cyMY9cE73RSkxmEaAtoAEALw_wcB
  13. I watch and listen to so many bassists who play Jazz basses and wish I got on with them. They just look so cool!

What holds you from tagging along with owning the best model of bass to ever exist?

      Lozz196

Yep, a Jazz bass can look really cool, for me a battered sunburst/tort 60s style, or a black/maple 70s style

  14. I spotted this on eBay and I'm still very tempted... Not many basses you'll see in this condition for less than 50% of the RRP!
  15. The lack of colours was the only excuse I had for not seriously contemplating buying one. Now, well yeah - that green is nice. Although knowing Yamaha, you'll only get the 5er in the red and some other colour that isn't available for the 734.
  16. Peach Guitars are a Reverend stockist - aren't showing any Dub Kings just now, but you could contact them in case they are expecting one soon?
  17. Like Lozz said, think it's 19mm. Only Fender/Squier that is narrower (that I am aware of) was the older Broncos which had 17mm spacing but can fit 19mm happily.
  18. Yes, but which colour of black?
  19. I have only tried a Reverend, so no longer term experience but I do recall the pickups be very square, like you say. If this was me, there would be three options: Take a file/sandpaper and very gradually file the edges of where you play the most to get it to a point where it isn't bothering you. Get a zero-mod style thumb rest Return it and go back to the drawing board. It is a bit unfortunate that the one of the big pros of Reverend is their in-house pickups, so you don't really want to change them out. Hopefully this helps and you find a solution rather than having to return a bass you like 95% of.
  20. I'm sure we have seen our fair share of toxic behaviour on the internet, and sometimes it can feel like there's very few places left to hide from that. It's genuinely great to see strangers come together and make a difference to one of the members going through a difficult time. Hopefully it makes a difference for you and your family, Andy.
  21. I was going to say the same! I have a great bitsa P I put together that doesn't get played, but that green....
  22. Well just think of it as having an "in" for now, or as long as @Ander87 is a sponsored artist 😂
  23. I am sure someone will be along with an actual answer and measurements, but in the meantime I used a Harley Benton neck on a generic P Bass body and it fiit ma very small bit of filing so it would suggest that the necks and pockets are close to standard Fender-type measurements. Others may know better though!
  24. It's good of him to note the date on which he finally lost the last of his marbles on the headstock 😅 Also, the subtle advertising of his likely self-published books is a nice touch.
  25. I thought the same myself - they regularly get listed between £800-£1500 which is a stupidly good price at either end of the scale.
