  1. So....anyone want to sell me a BB414 or 1024? All this discussion today has me wanting one! 😅
  2. If you're lucky you can get one sub £500, but anywhere around that price and you won't feel out of pocket I reckon.
  3. So I'm in the early stages of organising my wedding and we're close to getting a date and venue set. Obviously the next most important thing is the music. Anyone on here play in a band that does both covers and ceilidh? Or can recommend anyone? Thanks!
  4. That's a point, @Doodif you're reviewing a bass that comes in 4 and 5 string and they are only going to send one of them - which do you pick?
  5. If anyone knows of any Tickets for Tedeschi Trucks Band for the Glasgow gig going, let me know!

      I'm also on the hunt!
After years of hoping they'd finally visit Glasgow, I decided against buying tickets when they announced it last year - I feared it'd get pushed back forever like countless other gigs were.

  6. Anyone else managed to try or buy the NJS? Just watched the Bass The World video and am still very interested....
  7. Just seeing a friend is having to let go of a lot of his basses - possibly the single biggest collection of ACGs to go up for sale too. Would be good to see them go to good homes so keep your eyes on Bass Direct.

sorry to hear that - totally unaware of the circumstances here so apologies if my previous note came across a bit mercenary, it was meant to be constructive!

Very sad, he's a top bloke and I'm gutted that circumstances have forced him into this position.

  8. You wax lyrical about these basses, so shame to see you move it on but must be something good in the pipeline to force this sale.
  9. There are many better models out there than ones from Fender and Gibson, but we are creatures of habit and marketing. I believe most of it is down our Six String playing friends, they very rarely stray away from what's available in a local shop meaning anything else isn't "cool" Yamaha, Sandberg and PRS have refined their own designs and are probably technically better than a Fender or Gibson, but since they only get a fraction of market share they aren't going to get in as many hands to understand the differences.
  10. Ive only tried one briefly in a shop and it was pretty well balanced. But I think as with all Sandberg basses, they take existing designs and just refine them to make them better* and more playable. *A bit subjective and does not result in them being more popular.
  11. Evening, Just perusing the For Sale Section and getting this error when clicking on any specific post. Seems to be across most of the sections but the Affiliates sections seems to be ok.
  12. A small BB Project for anyone looking near North Shields. Good price just needs a bit of paint or some more sanding.
  13. I really want to try the new Central as I loved my Electra for the simplicity but wanted to have that bridge pickup. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts
  14. I have no idea why, having never played one yet but I have a real soft spot for the Dolphin design. Maybe one day....
  15. Tough one, as you never want to change things on such expensive basses, but if you prefer the feel of the Cazpar you should be able to find some other pickups or preamp for it fairly easily. Easier to change those bits than the feel and fit of the bass
  16. Such a subjective question - but I've seen a good few second hand ACGs go for under 2k. With the John East Pre installed they are extremely versatile and top notch build quality. But again, try as many basses as you can and I'm sure you'll find one.
  17. Oh that looks very tasty, would definitely pick one up if I had the pennies available.
  18. Doesn't the SR300E have the powerspan pickups which are a bit different to the Bart styles found in the majority of the SR range? I tried an SR305E in a shop and very much liked the powerspan pickups, but haven't owned one long term.
  19. For those of 5 string Jazz persuasion, this looks very nice
  20. Can confirm shell pink short scales are a fun project 😁
  21. Always wanted to try one of these as a former Sheehan Fan Boi. The attitude beck is too thick for me and I do like the BB style...maybe one day.
  22. Hadn't heard about the MTD 32" models, look very interesting! Not quite sure I like the longer horns on the smaller shape but sure they'll be better pictures than the BD site.
  23. I always thought at one point I would have a Status, and go through the whole process and it would be mine. Used to have a PC wallpaper covered on different Statii, with all the LEDs and cool finishes and I am a wee bit sad that I'll never get that chance to do that. In its current format anyway. Also, the 2nd hand value of these will rocket once we know what the future holds for Status production.
