    The next instalment….. I just picked up a very sorry looking red Mustang….. Filthy dirty fretboard and a pick guard that looks like it was left on a radiator. The neck is straight, so hopefully that wasn’t the case. New pick guard is ordered, and this time I’m going to build the new loom myself. There’s a set of LaBella flats waiting to go on it.

    I’ve been doing a light restoration for a friend on his Hofner. It’s been in its case, in a damp garage for nearly 25 years. It was covered in white powdery mould like substance when I opened the case. I thought it would have been completely delaminated too but by the looks of it has escaped with just needing a good deep clean and a New jack socket. I’d left it in its case slightly open for a couple of weeks before doing anything to it.

    Great condition, sounds colossal and beautifully built. An absolute classic! 600w @4 ohms IIRC.

    To me it stands out, and is real musicians making real music, musically enjoying what they do from composition and all the way to tiny desktop gig. Me, I love the interplay between all the instruments, which is done very cunningly. Her voice is adequate enough to me too. Some Des'ree and other vibes are very welcome in my ears. Did I mention I lurve this? Bought "empathogen", which seemingly came out today, and must seek out their earlier stuff. Now, that MGK song OTOH ... Shudder.

    This is nothing like Taylor Swift or Ed Sheeran, this is real music! And soft, yes, but not dull. The musicianship is razor edge sharp, but not in a cold calculated way. Authentic and genuine, felt, real music!
