… I’ve just got a DSI Mopho module, wanted to compare the sound against the Sub25 and BSII. I think I need to stop at three blynths lol. BUT I did play a mates LittlePhatty at church the other weekend and liked the look of the 3rd octave 😂

This. If I buy second-hand stuff, I don't expect it to be delivered to my door. I collect, inspect and pay cash. Obviously, I wouldn't buy something worth £20 if it was 100 miles away, unless it was the bargain of the century and hugely under-priced.

This is a very good quality plate, made by Fatboy Guitars Ltd. in Newport England, probably about 20 years ago. I have had it in a drawer for years and never even removed the plastic film so it is in new unmarked condition. The colour is a very pale mint green to my eyes which is not captured in the photos. Price includes UK postage.

What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...

I've only recently gotten into double-thumbing and have some way to go before it's at a decent level but so far on my 24 fret basses I haven't noticed any low-end loss compared to using my 21 fret one. Same with "regular" slap. -
FS: rather sexy pink Fender MIJ/Allparts Jazz Bass £600

Re..... Need to thin the collection: against logic and probably against Basschat rules, the whole point of a collection is that you collect the items in it, it's not called a 'thinection' Don't need another bass: again, against Basschat rules, you always need another bass, every member of Basschat always needs another bass I don't really need a Jazz Bass: how can you possibly know that you don't need a Jazz Bass if you don't have a Jazz Bass? I hope I've clarified things for you Marc -

I don’t play slap style, but don’t doubt the validity of other’s experience. A great 24 fret bass is a lovely thing if it rings true all the way up. I play mostly country now, but still find creative uses for notes above the 12th fret. -

The Bass Bros website filters still don't work (I have reported that to them), while the Bass Direct website has functioning filters (including a fretted/fretless which BB lacks). I can't understand why anybody would find the Bass Direct website hard to use. The only issue with BD is that after the first search, all the items shown will only click through to the item itself if you click on the item title, not the item picture.

The 12 Best Professional Sound Speakers?
Chienmortbb replied to Phil Starr's topic in PA set up and use
I assume that as they also make the drivers, they know the variations in specifications. Taking the that knowledge allows you to protect the drivers, limiting them to the minimum specs. You might also have some sort of dynamic impedance measurement to check the actual voice coil temperature, avoiding the worst effects of power or thermal compression. - Today

YEEE-HAAA!! Just bought a pre-owned Wlcock Mullarkey from Bass Direct 🙂 Same colour as the one recently sold on here by Clarky but with a scratch-plate from the red end of the tort spectrum. Will be delivered Tuesday - can't wait. Watch this space! -

So when I first suggested to my wife "there's a great series about a women's punk band called Riot Women.....would you like to watch it?" She looked at me suspiciously and said: "Is it like Spinal Tap?". It's not, and we deliberately made going to see Spinal Tap 2 a band-only outing.

I hear you. I'm picking one up from my tech tomorrow : he asked "Who's done the crazy truss rod adjustment " I didn't admit my guilt !

Another lovely Trace head for sale. This one has the 7 band EQ with a 300W amp. I've gigged this extensively with Stray and it's never sold me short. Internally, this has the 'Bi Polar Bear' power section, which was known to self destruct. This has been checked over and modded by my tech who has ensured the earth connection is solid with a star washer, and he's also coated a component inside with heat resistant compound, which prevents false temperature readings screwing up the bias. This was an official Trace Mod which is known to make these amps reliable. It's got the Trace tone in spades and plenty of volume. Two pre shapes and the ability to 'tilt' the EQ to make it either treblier or bassier, along with the well spaced 7 band switchable EQ. This one has come out of a rack, so comes with rack ears but no rubber feet (stick on feet readily available at your local hardware store!) £225 for this one collected from Milton Keynes - willing to drive a little way for fuel.
