  1. Past hour
  2. I've just seen the new Ibanez Prestige range. This thread is keeping me honest. <repeat> I don't need a new bass, I've fixed mine. <until false>
  3. A well organised and attended outdoor festival. Ideally? Something like Wacken.
  4. It's usually not the bass playing itself; it's the bass playing showing up the effect of something else. Eg bad posture when typing at a computer. I've had: a frozen shoulder so I couldn't bow...that was triggered by falling off my bike. Left hand pins and needles making finguring hard... Sleeping with a hand behind my head. Right hand cramps ...that was resting my hand on the desk when using a mouse. Tennis elbow .. tennis initially, then....don't know but bass playing doesn't make it worse. Those clamp things help. Left hand rsi...that may have been over-practice on a fat necked 5 string electric bass. I think eBasses are far more injuries due to the angle they put in your left wrist. Sometimes a physio will sort this stuff out...but it's hit and miss. Think " what hurts, and how might I have hurt it?" Then stop doing that thing. Rest and stretches too.
  5. This is a great pickup, but I have had it for a couple of years and never used it, ever. Hence, it’s time for it to move on. Please ask any question. The price for this is 299 euros. Mine is new, but since I’ve had it sitting in the house doing nothing, how about £180?
  6. 10% carbon (the two black rods you see), 90%wood.
  7. Read up on it and we have been in contact with the ME Society currently on waiting list for the local ME Specialist team. But will take any advice - PM me
  8. Reduced again. Must go
  9. Excuse my ignorance, Brian, but what is a 10/90 neck?
  10. At this stage I think its just down to if the Anagram has the features you need right now. Its far too early to see what their feature release cadence will be or where the platform will be a year from now. If you're ok with the footprint of the QC, its a pretty mature ecosystem which already does a lot. The capture collection is vast too, I found everything I was looking for, even less common stuff. I'm intrigued by the Anagram but not really interested in any of the stock preamps/drives and most of the stuff I’d want is absent from the NAM captures. If the capture process was a bit more refined and they had a better variety of non-darkglass stuff covered out of the box itd be a far more tempting proposition for me personally.
  11. Selection of scratchplates for USA Precision bass. 13 hole. Selling individually. Request any further pics & info. Collection WV14 Geoff
  12. I like boss compact pedals, and have over a dozen of them so I want to like this, but I don't like the idea of microtransactions.
  13. Good to hear it's resolved. A new amp thread is always interesting as well
  14. The Bugera Veyron M arrived yesterday (very well packaged I might add). Tested it last night and all works fine. 2 noticeable things. It's loud. Also it sounds really nice. Had it set up in the living room and my wife suddenly said "that sounds good". (Although it may have been a comment on my playing 😄). When I've had a chance to use it properly I might even do a new amp thread. Thanks again everyone
  15. That's lovely, can't see it hanging around for too long, GLWTS.
  16. I recently bought a bass stand from Ed. I was very pleased with the whole experience- great comms, arrived in the post quickly, and it was extremely well packed. I would do business with Ed again without hesitation.
  17. I got a set of Lekato MS-02’s yesterday. They seem to sound ok but latency is just noticeable. Manual says 10.5ms in stereo. Im using wireless system for bass as well so i guess its going to be effected. Its not unusable, and barley noticable, but its there. I tried with my usual system and that was better. It’s just too much to take out just for rehearsals. So, ive ordered a set of the Nux B-7PSM’s off amazon, which is stating 5ms. Just wondered if they are the same as Lekato and only listing the mono latency, so it doubles when run in stereo. Any ideas?
  18. JJ pre amp tube ECC83
  19. dont the Vintage Fenders have a clear coat sealer on them prior to painting, I had a Mocha brown one that I took the paint off with nail polish remover...
  20. Yes, and cars arent allowed to run you over on a zebra crossing but it's still wise to look left and right before you cross.............. (less snarkily, yes, theyve been required for over 20 years but you'll still encounter the odd legacy system out there so its a good idea to carry your own. Be prepared and all that dib dib dib) Yes, 13a plug in rcds exist - they cost about the same as a couple of pints https://www.screwfix.com/p/masterplug-13a-fused-plug-in-active-rcd-plug/44855

  23. A very slightly used set of the standard Tonerider P bass pickups in their “Staggered Pole Piece” version. Fitted to my vintera p for one rehearsal but i think i prefer the Duke ones i have. £30 posted within the UK. No screws unfortunately but ill try and dig a set out
  24. Electric Avenue - Eddy Grant
  25. This is very interesting stuff. As you have posted the link, do you measure your own power requirement? I have always harboured doubts about using a single socket so it would be interesting to know if it was possible. I'll get one of those devices anyway but it would be good to have some idea. I'll certainly ensure the singer/guitarist is always utilising a single socket for his amp and the PA.
