My really nice P Bass which I would rate as being in excellent 9/10 condition with just a few play wear marks mainly to the pick guard, tiny piece of the headstock decal missing + small dings & play wear marks, the worst being near the bridge cover / rear strap button area - please see pics. The black line on the rear of the otherwise unmarked neck is ‘in the wood’ & not damage. The headstock is clean & free from damage. I’ve owned & played umpteen P Basses over the past half Century and I can honestly say that this is right up there with the best of them - in my humble opinion of course. Very low action all the way up the fingerboard with spot on relief thanks to level frets & a Pro set up which makes this P Bass very easy to play, plus very well balanced at 3.9kg, or 8.59lbs in old money. Fully functioning easy to turn both ways Truss Rod, which can be adjusted without removing the neck New set of La Bella Low Tension Flats just fitted. Fender USA superb quality C & G black hard case, with plush red interior included. Numbered Fender Certificate of Authenticity + both ashtrays, tug bar & Case Candy. Lovey playing / sounding P Bass that I’m sure the new owner will be ‘cock a hoop’ with! I believe these were based on a ‘63 P Bass rather than the newer American Original 60’s ll which I think are based on a ‘62 P? Specifications…… Serial Number: V2093899 with Certificate of Authenticity. Origin: USA Year: 2020 Body Material: Alder Colour: 3 Tone Sunburst Finish: Nitro Neck Finish: Gloss Neck Material: Maple Fingerboard: Rosewood - 9.5” radius Inlays: Clay Dots and side clay dots Pickups: Fender Pure Vintage ‘63 Split Single-Coil Precision Bass Electronics: Passive Controls: Volume, Tone Pickguard: Faux Tortoiseshell Hardware: Chrome Accessories: Covers and Certificate Frets: 20 String Spacing: 20mm Nut Width: 44mm Scale Length: 34” Weight: 3.9k Case Fender C & G Black Hard Case with plush Red Interior. Can post to the U.K. Mainland only sorry, via fully insured next day delivery - earliest would probably be next Thursday, due to the Bank Holiday. Or if you can collect then knock £75.00 off i.e. £1,675.00. Please feel free to message me if you would like any further information.

An easy win from the 'West Side Story', the tune 'I Feel Pretty' is essentially a duet between Grusin and flautist, Dave Valentin but there is a 90 second montuno groove in 6:4 at the 1:34 mark that is fun. Not massively difficult to play but, as with the 7:8 sections in 'America', you need to internalise the count and then it makes sense. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/i-feel-pretty-dave-grusin/

I've had that too. I get the email/barcode up on my phone, and get them to scan that. It's always worked for me.

For sale is my lovely Yamaha TRB-IIF 5-string factory fretless bass in trans blue. It's a 35" scale factory fretless version of the well-regarded TRB-II basses. Made in Japan between 1998 and 2004, these were top of the line instruments, featuring Yamaha Alnico single-coil hum cancelling pickups and Yamaha's TRB 'Q-mix' 3-band preamp. This is an absolutely lovely example; there's some very small dings on the top but otherwise it's amazing for a 25+ year bass. The serial no suggests it was made in 2000 (if I've read this guide correctly). It has 18mm string spacing, and is currently fitted with DR Legend flatwounds. I think I have some Rotosound tapewounds if you would prefer. A lovely low action and amazing fretless tone. Got Basschat strap holders on ATM - I'll remove those and the strap unless you desperately want them. I think £900 is a fair value, looking at some others for sale ATM, but happy to consider offers. I much prefer a meet up than posting so you can be absolutely happy with what you're buying, but will post (UK only) if you’re desperate. I’ve agreed to buy a bass so this is for sale only. Thanks for reading!

That, I suspect, is a poor business decision. I've chatted about this with a couple of UK neck builders who both felt the same but, despite this and some copyright hassles, recognise that business is about what the customer wants

I might be in the minority but I prefer a mic on a stand as - assuming no soundguy (@Matt P I'm not sure if you're simply lending PA or also doing sound) - I could always control feedback by moving the bass, plus to my ear it meant more of the real sound of the instrument came across

Exactly. I also used to weave a long thick bootlace through the afterlengths to prevent any sympathetic ringing (normally you can't hear it, but as they are close to the mic pickup position they can get more noticable. If you have time, the between the bridge feet method will probably sound better - but it is always good to have a quick option available.

Social media companies should be made to take responsibility for scam advertising. They can afford it but they'd rather make obscent amounts of profit rather than spend the money on protecting their users.

Using column PA speakers as stage monitors?
dave_bass5 replied to Beedster's topic in PA set up and use
Actually both my guitarist’s only use 1x12’s. One also uses a multiFX that goes directly tothe mixer as well as his amp. The other has his amp mic’ed up. -
I'd give a b0llock for that. They declined and asked for money instead. I can't do that right now. Damn. That's a lovely bass.

Seeking feedback regarding feedback is pleasantly circular ...

Ah, yes. The usual platitudes - I'm "disrespecting hard working citizens", etc, etc - trotted out by those who like the fact that they can buy things cheap and who wish to turn a blind eye to the reasons why it costs so little. I'm not "disrespecting hard working citizens". They have no choice but to work hard for little reward. I admire them for it. I'm criticising the system that forces them to do so. Next, you'll be telling me that they aren't used to Western pay rates and conditions of employment and therefore it wouldn't be good for them. I'll turn your question on its head. My PA and bass gear was made in Germany, the US and the UK, where I can be pretty certain that people are paid decently and don't have to work in a poor environment (relatively speaking, of course. Things can always be better). Have you ensured that the factories where your stuff was made are up to snuff, or are you happy to assume it was because it makes you feel better? The issue goes much wider than just musical equipment. It extends to every aspect of our lives - clothing, consumer goods, food, etc, etc. I know it's unfashionable, "bigoted" even, but I look at country of origin for everything I buy. If I can, I buy home produced goods. This is a matter of pragmatism, as well as principle. I live in the UK and therefore, I want the UK economy to be healthy, because that will benefit my quality of life and that of those I care about. it's in my interest to ensure that, if I can, I buy in a manner that does not see the money I spend lost for good to our economy. Thou doth protest too much. I made a sardonic comment and you took umbrage and attempted to accuse me of bigotry. I suggest your over-reaction betrays your sensitivity about your own conduct, rather than anything I say or do.
