  1. Past hour
  2. With apologies for not having read all ten pages to find this out: Is the order book for these amps now closed? Or is it possible to add my name to the list? A 100W Stoneham seems like a good spot for me. Depending on price, of course.
  3. Found it…
  4. 100% agree, the clover tuner and decal was the first red flag for me. Every pre-TV decal late 66-68 block inlay Jazz bass that I've seen has the lollipops.
  5. Happy birthday!!! I had no idea, but it turns out I too am a Grand Master. That's bait.
  6. Yep! Crazy lightweight for an Ash bodied Jazz.
  7. How can you tell that's a slab fingerboard, it's got binding around it? 🤔
  8. There’s an ointment for that
  9. Thank you for the suggestion. I present the bass guitars as honest as possible. No effects, no compression. Just the bass directly into Focusrite Scarlett > my iMac. But my recording equipment and skills are nothing to write home about. 😉 On the twelve string builds with two separate outputs i did demonstrate how you can blend a clean signal with a distorted one. Because that was the purpose of the separate outputs. Plus of course with the Brooks QB, I demonstrated the SansAmp and the Compressor because they are part of the actual bass itself.

  11. It did, and by listening to an album from limewire or wherever you were probably more likely to buy the real thing from those artists so it made more money for the artists, not just the industry. Generative AI has the opposite effect, if it is generating the music itself, it will still make money for the industry, but less oportunity for artists.
  12. I suspect you're probably the only person to 'download to try' then go and spend money on the same thing you've already downloaded. If you could provide the evidence for stating that illegally downloading music etc. factually provided income for the industry, I'd love to see it!
  13. Gear4Music have it at the same price but with free delivery so £6 cheaper, est delivery later this month although that might be a lie as Thomann (same price as Andertons) also say end of June: https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Behringer-FLOW-8-8-Channel-Digital-Mixer/3N67?utm_campaign=surfaces_across_google
  14. In one sense, that's admirable. On the other hand, unless this is clearly marked as such, it could end up being sold as genuine. I've mentioned it several times on this thread, but two of my vintage basses sold with changed parts clearly mentioned to new buyers. Unfortunately, they have subsequently appeared for sale with all of those things not mentioned. The price was almost double (in one case, triple) what I'd sold the basses for. I know Limelight clearly mark their fakes, but Bravewood doesn't. I think I'm more supportive of the former approach than the latter.
  15. I’m in the ‘hair covering the headstock’ camp I’m afraid. 🤣 Si
  16. That's brilliant, I hope it works out for you. The perceived wisdom is to always have spare channels but sometimes a tool is just right for the job. Behringer are a funny old company. They still make a lot of stuff they've been producing for years and I think the Flow is made to replace their analogue desks but it does knock up against the X12 price wise. The X Air 12 does offer a whole world of extra capabilities but has the same learning curve as the x18 mixers and the same lack of physical controls. Not everyone will want to develop the technical expertise to run the X-series of mixers and I suspect that there would be a real market for replacing all their small analogue mixers with a Flow version. I think there is a lot of merit in simplicity and it is one of the joys of playing with a duo or trio to go in with a simple set up and just get on with playing.
  17. This is a deliberate attempt to make a 70's Jazz bass to look Vintage at a fraction of the cost, he is not trying to sell it as a Vintage Jazz but offering it to anyone not in a position to afford the real deal but want to have a bass close to a Vintage looking one But if you had never seen a Vintage bass before or what to look out for then you could easily be fooled...
  18. Actually in that photo the headstock was just behind the drummers head. He was known to be deeply embarrassed about his headstock, so he always hid it.
  19. That sounds really good Steve. I used a similar unit a few years ago but it had to be used in conjunction with a guitar to get the key right. Out of interest what have you replaced it with? Glwts.
  20. Today
  21. Annual Otis Jay Blues Band show at the local Forest Arts Centre, New Milton. Sold 100/130 tickets for a three-band bill - all good clean fun and a joining-in audience to boot. Great to have pro sound and lights. Sandberg VM4, GK MB200 through Barefaced One10, DI’d of course.
  22. There's a hydraulic press at work, I'll let you know how I get on 🤠
  23. One of your kidneys should get you over the line …
  24. Has anyone been to a Pitchblack Playback event? I'm thinking of going to one and I'm really not sure if it will be worth the money or something that will be an incredible listening event.
