Great set lists @police squad and @hiram.k.hackenbacker. At least you avoided the most horrific band of the 80's, even if they started in the late 70's : The Cure (that said their two first albums were quite good, their 80's shīt is simply awful, but it's what entitled them to ... money).

Listening now, early UB40 were superb, just as good as anything coming out of Jamaica. To me it's authentic because they authentically meant it; their feeling for that music is sincere. That's why they played it so well. The drummer and bass player are so good. I really don't think Sly and Robbie could have done a better job on those first few albums.
-
Is there any reason they wouldn't work. Too quick to react perhaps?
-
Thanks for posting those two set lists. As I suspected they are quite heavily skewed towards the first half of the decade. @hiram.k.hackenbacker I hope you do "I Think We're Alone Now" in the High NRG style of Tiffany's version otherwise it's technically a 60s cover and "Video Killed The Radio Star" was originally released in 1979 [/pedant] ;-)

Just bought a pedal from Lozz, as new and fast delivery, highly recommended! Thanks mate.

It’ll get you in the end…! I succumbed to this one I saw in Wunjos back in January (after realising that the lead time on a near identical custom order - blue burst like your configuration - would be about 18-24 months). Don’t regret it for a moment. Love this bass.

Agree with you, and the current line up is diabolical, but UB40 in their prime (a different matter) probably turned a lot of people on to the real thing. I am one of them.

Bashes are gatherings of basschatters and guests where we take lots of gear along, chat and try stuff out, sometimes a speaker gives a chat. If you could get along to one, it would be a good opportunity for me/someone to have a good look at your bass.

He could have done with that in Colditz.

Keep 'em coming, Chris! The more the merrier!

This might seem crude but if you tap on the pickups with a hex key or similar just under the G string and then compare to the loudness of the taps under the other strings, does it sound quieter under the G. Remember the shape of the reverse P in that soapbar cover. The pickup part will be forward under the G, at the back under the E. For the J, the coil is at the back and the front is empty. I've just tried it on mine and it's the same on all strings.

Indeed. Not that any of it matters. He was just Bob Marley. One of the greatest songwriters ever.
