  2. Maybe difficult to tell from the photo but this is the passive Warwick jack, it looks to have 3 connections. On that basis, do you think it would work for and active EMG pickup?
  3. They have just restocked at my branch of Lidl.
  4. Hello, Up for sale is my Line 6 HX Stomp, plus a few other accessories. Altogether I'm asking £400 posted for this. I assume everyone knows what these do by now. I've had it for a few years, and used it a fair amount, but it's still in good condition and good working order. As well as the stomp, I'll include a Bright Onion momentary switch, which gives you the option to add two auxiliary footswitches. This was a custom order I requested to be in an MXR style housing, so it was easier to mount to a pedalboard. To go with this I have a Warwick Rockboard TRS 60cm cable, to attach the Bright Onion Switch to the Stomp. Also included is a Cioks Flex 8800 Current Doubler cable, and a Cioks 3050 Flex Type 3 cable. This creates an adapter that can power the Stomp using two outputs of your Cioks power supply. But if you want to use the Stomp just on it's own, I will also include a separate power supply unit that plugs straight into the wall. Somewhere along the line I misplaced the original power supply, but this after market unit does the job just as well. Additionally I'll include EBS ICY-30 Y-Insert Flat Cable. This can be plugged into the stereo sendof the Stomp, and then sent to two separate loops of other pedals, which can then be ordered with the other sounds in the Stomp. For instance I had the 'tip' side sent to my octaver, and the 'ring' side sent to my fuzz, and then from there you can use the Stomp's inbuilt FX in any position surrounding your real FX. Not pictured is the cable I'll include that connects the Stomp to your computer, so you can edit presets from there using HX Edit. I think that's everything. I'm happy to post this, but a buyer is welcome to collect if they prefer. Any questions, please send me a message. Cheers.
  5. I am sure there are already loads of these out there but proceeded with it nevertheless. The live version of 'Three Views Of A Secret' from the 1982 Jaco Pastorius Word Of Mouth Big Band album, 'Twins'. Some real challenges in the transcribing of this one due to Jaco's tasty double stops. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/three-views-of-a-secret-jaco-pastorius-word-of-mouth-big-band/
  6. if anybody is interested my jones 5 string is up for sale !!!
  7. I read somewhere that MB drivers were/are made by B&C (which would be plausible as B&C is an Italian company). Worth approaching them for advice?
  8. I picked up a Roland RD-700nx used from Andertons earlier this year, in mint condition for a mere £599 with stand and pedals etc. Yes it is a little bulky/heavy, but ticks all the other boxes
  9. You always need a back up tho and then a back up for the back up. I'd keep the 3 of them. 🤩 Dave
  10. Interestingly, we played a J Squier in Dawson's which we felt didn't feel nice, same model (I think also in Wunjo) played brilliantly. And I'm not talking set up either but the neck. I think at this price they all play slightly differently.
  11. Only £10 more expensive in Wunjo so price wasn't the factor.
  12. So your friend didn't buy the one in Wunjo's then. Do you mind me asking if they were priced the same?
  13. Quick check on the neck stamps tonight. Really loving the bass so far, has a really nice ‘eveness’ tone wise string to string. Nice narrow neck wise with a nice chunkiness front to back
  14. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  15. i used to visit them in the 90s they fixed my session bass amp by soldering the fuse in ,didnt work not for me
  16. Yes. Quite. 2022 post so presumably post pandemic. Venues were trying anything to recoup losses back then.
  17. Have A Cigar - Pink Floyd
  18. Very Nice Daryl
  19. Colin Hay at Union Chapel Islington. Popped into Hope and Anchor pub before the gig which for anyone who doesn't know is just a short walk from the chapel. I'd not been in there or to Union Chapel before and both were well worth the visit. Book pre show meal which also allowed entrance to the venue 30 minutes before the official opening time. I'd recommend this if available as we got to pick our seats before the rush and the pre show meal ticket is free with no obligation to buy a meal. Support from Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket) who I'd never heard of was excellent. Overheard a conversation behind me "Colin supported us for 39 shows and we came out and watched his whole set every night" Colin Hay arrives on stage, I've been a big MAW fan but was the first time I'd seen him live.......he was just superb. Back to Hope and Anchor for a beer and a little internet search revealed matey behind me was Ed Robertson (Barenaked Ladies)...he's got good taste.
  20. Jack sockets for active basses need 3 connections - tip, ring and sleeve. This means that whenever a Jack lead is plugged in it forms a connection between the ring and sleeve which completes the power supply circuit - typically the ground connection, leaving the tip to carry the signal. This has the advantage of not drawing power from the battery whenever you unplug your lead. If the original socket only has 2 lugs then you’re going to need an awful lot of batteries…
  21. Don does a good comparison here with a few different basses
