In no particular order:

Glen Matlock
JJ Burnell
Bruce Foxton
Bruce Thomas
Nikki Sixx
Sami Yaffa
John Deacon
Paul Simenon
Horace Panter
Duff McKagan

Is it possible I grew up in the 70s & 80s?

Edited and Duff replaced Lemmy

Cliff Burton (Metallica)
Paolo Gregoletto (Trivium)
Paul Gray (Slipknot, Especially the MFKR Era)
Fred Leclerq (Dragonforce, notably their latest album)
Kasim Sulton (Ex. Neverland Express/Meatloaf)
Brian Robinson (A Wilhelm Scream, just listen to The Horse)
Steve Harris (Iron Maiden)
Chris Wolstenholme (Muse, need i say anything?)
Shavo Odadjian (System of a Down)
Alex Webster (Cannibal Corpse, no matter whether you like the music or not, the man is a monstrous bass player.)

All in no particular order of course, just guys i think are brilliant bass players.

Something like....in no particular order:

James Jamerson
Marcus Miller
John Patitucci
Geddy Lee
Pino Palladino
Stanley Clarke
Alain Caron
Bernard Edwards
Jaco Pastorius
Bruce Foxton

I stuck Bruce in there at the end purely because, he may not be a virtuoso, but he is the reason I play bass. His tone and lines stood out for me among all the other bassists of his generation.

Jeremy Clarkson

Susan Boyle
Jedward
Ashleigh and Pudsey

I know technically that's twelve, but I just can't decide between them.

James Jamerson
John Deacon
Bruce Foxton
Norman Watt-Roy
Stephen Amazing (check out either UPP album)
