  1. My next gig is Punk Rock Factory in a few weeks to kick off a fairly busy month of 5 gigs. Pop punk versions of Disney tunes with a beer or two sounds like a good friday night to me. The rest of the month consist of Poets Of The Fall, Enter Shikari in Athens, Hot Milk and Against The Current, followed up with As December Falls in early December to round out the year.
  2. I started on Rotosound from 2007-2009ish, then for a change i switched over to EB Slinkies. Those were the choice for two years but i was killing them very quickly with gigs (my record being 40 minutes) so i gave Elixirs a try. Have only used either nickel or steel nanoweb's since then, other than very recently i've put a set of D'Addario XT's on one bass to try them out. Always 45-105 with either a 130 or 135 B string for the 5.
  3. I really enjoyed my M80. Gigged with it for a good few years. If you're willing to splash a bit more cash, a HX Stomp is hard to beat for the versatility.
  4. It's festival season so it's quiet for a few months. I have Bat (Meat Loaf Tribute) and Slam Dunk North at the end of the month, then Spiritbox in July. After that it's very quiet till Busted in late september.
  5. HX Stomp. It's not perfect and i still have a few other pedals i use for things, but for the most part it does almost everything i need it to.
  6. I'm not gigging these days, but i've been rocking a proper leather Aussie bush hat a la Crocodile Dundee minus the teeth.
  7. Finally got around to re-wiring my pedalboard now i've managed to snag an Alpha Omicron. Decided to do it properly so it's all custom soldered cables and managed nicely. There's a patch bay underneath the Darkglass which is why it's raised up so high.
  8. Having just played for a few minutes to figure this out, the answer is everywhere. Mostly somewhere between the corner of the pickup and the edge of the pickguard on a P bass.
  9. 3 Basses 3 Electric Guitars 1 Acoustic Guitar 1 Ukulele 1 Kalimba
  10. I saw Tremonti in Manchester and it was the same problems. Loud even with my earplugs in, though the bass wasn't too bad. It was one of the most rammed gigs i have ever been to, and incredibly hot with it being mid 20's that day. They always put on a hell of a show though.
  11. Cheers for that. That's how i spent the first few hours just messing around. There's some mental noises comes from this thing. I mostly use snapshots anyway so i'm not overly limited on switches luckily. The two controllers on the bottom do all of my switching so it's nice and easy.
  12. Recently upgraded from just the stomp to this. Not gigging at all these days, just for some home noodling but it's been good fun. I've only had the SY-1 for a couple of hours so if anyone has any recommendations let me know!
  13. I've had good luck with the Behringer BDI-21 sansamp clone, and the MXR M80. If you can scrape an extra few quid together it might be worth looking at a HX Stomp for a lot more versatility.
  14. Could put a 1U rack drawer in just to keep odds and sods in. Spare strings, picks, etc.
  15. I think the Truetone CS6 can do 18v with one of their adapter cables.
  16. I remember seeing something similar at a gig a few years back. Someone kicked off when they decided to walk through the middle of the pit, and subsequently lost both of their pints. After a bit of back and forth between said knob and the guy who'd hit him, someone else came out of nowhere, did a lovely ankle sweep takedown, told him not so nicely to remove himself from the vicinity and then disappeared silently back into the crowd.
  17. Never used them myself but a couple of my mates have had CE6's for about 4-5 years now and never had any complaints whatsoever, and they're both audio engineers.
  18. Both, tortex 0.73 on bass, tortex flow 0.88 on the skinny stringed thing.
  19. Ross from Fatherson and Simon from Biffy Clyro are the first ones that spring to mind.
  20. I've got a Cort something or other HSH superstrat thing with a Floyd Rose, and currently mid way through a ebay Thinline Tele parts build.
  21. Stringray 4 H, white, stealth hardware, maple board (if EBMM would let me order that config), Helix Rack+control and a good wireless system.
  22. Afternoon all, I've purchased a pre-wired tele control plate and it seems to be wired in a different way to anything i've found online. Anyone any idea how this thing should be wired or is it easier just to start again with it?
  23. It is quite good to see one of the rare signature models that isn't like this. Some go wild. The ESP Ben Weinman is one that springs to mind. Different pickups, Evertune bridge, option of an internal wireless system, and it might have even been a shape he created if my memory serves me correctly. The other one being the PRS SE Zach Myers, because for a while you couldn't get a PRS hollowbody for under 2 grand other than that.
