Just traded my svt in for this lovley rig, iv'e still got a big ole Ampeg cab at practice.
This thing is loud! iv'e read a lot about folks saying it's not got too much clean headrome.......they must be playing stadiums imo :-D

SO, here's a moody shot from last night after I went and gigged Sat/Sun this weekend just gone. Had an insane amount of fun running this rig and I thought you might appreciate it!

Ibanez ATK810 bass

In the 6u rack is:-

-Furman M10LXE power conditioner
-Korg DTR1000 tuner
-Ampeg SVP-BSP preamp
-Mesa Boogie Triaxis preamp
-Rocktron Velocity 300 poweramp

Mesa Boogie Diesel 4x10 cab

Signal path is:-

Bass -> Ampeg -> Rocktron -> Cab
Ampeg Tuner out -> Korg
Ampeg Overdrive FX Loop Send -> Mesa Input -> Mesa Output -> Ampeg Overdrive FX Loop Return

Essentially, I'm using the Mesa guitar preamp for my overdrive tones, it has this real nice raw sound that I'm digging right now! Otherwise, the clean channel on the Ampeg is always running and I combine the Overdrive channel as and when required.

^ Nice! ^

Never played a kemper live but have recorded with one (no, I don't own it) - I shouuld get the chap who owns it to profile the V4..

It's a very impressive piece of kit - I've only just started to delve deep into it. It certainly seems that it delivers everything it promises to. Just hooking it up to the remote and editing the fx to taste. So far there seems to no difference in my HD350 and the Kemper take on it.

  • 2 weeks later...

This was my working rig for bigger venues :-
Ampeg SVT4 Pro
Bergantino HT322

Keep the GK 1001RBii as a back up altho Ampeg knackered at moment so GK will take over for a bit.

With the GK head :-

Also use a Markbass 121 combo and ext cab for smaller gigs :-

Have a TE rig at reahearsals but not a huge fan so no pics.
Also just bought an Orange OBC115 to use with one of the amps possibly even the Markbass combo but undecide on which combination i'll go for.

Mini rig: Darkglass Microtubes 900 - Bergantino AE210

Main and backup heads with my 2 main cabs. The Epifani will shortly be going into the van for my function band, leaving me with the Bergantino AE410 and 210s as my main gigging setups.

All 3 cabs just for the hell of it ;) Edited by Higgie

How are you finding the Darkglass? I wondered whether you tried the Bergantino B|Amp as you have their cabs?

I'm loving it. I've only done a couple gigs with it (both of which were fairly small so didn't really get to crank it) but my initial reaction is that it is superb. I've never used/tried the B|Amp sorry!

My main gig rig right now, or maybe: one of my two main gig rigs:

Quilter BassBlock 800 with two TKS S112 or the same amp with one TKS 2126. Compact anyhow.
With four string bass I prefer the small cabs. Works for electric bass, acoustic bass guitar and acoustic upright.
With my five and six string basses I take the big cab. If I ever need two 2126 I use my old Eden WT800B...

First time out last night for my new rig and I love it!

EBS Reidmar 750, Barefaced One10 & Barefaced Super Compact.
[/quote]

How do the One10 and SC pair sonically? Interested as I'm hoping to get another SC later this year as I miss it hugely!
