1. It's not a Gibson Bass, but it's a Gibson 2018 SG Faded Worn Bourbon Guitar.
2. The 2018 SG Std.'s are coming from Gibson with plain adjustment truss covers. I had a an extra SG stamped, so I switched it out.
3. Thanks. I decided to go back to a Gibson SG Std. when I saw the 2018 SG Std.'s were out. I sold my Fenders, and did the SG Std. Walnut. I like the grain in the Mahogany too. It's strung with D'Addario ETB92M Nylons.
4. The 2018 Gibson SG Std. Walnut.
5. A 2018 Gibson SG Std. headstock.
6. I just acquired this Ampeg setup. V-4B / SVT-212AV
7. A Gibson 2018 SG Std. headstock.
8. Gibson 2018 SG Std. Walnut
9. The 2018 Gibson SG Std. Walnut Bass, with an Ampeg V-4B / SVT-212AV. & a Gibson 2018 SG Faded Worn Bourbon Guitar, with a Marshall MG15CFX.
10. The 2018 Gibson SG Std., with an Ampeg V-4B / SVT-212AV.
11. I found a tube sound I really like with my Gibson SG Std. The Ampeg V-4B / SVT-212AV.
12. My Fender Bassman 500 head has the old bassman head look, but only weighs in at 17 pounds. It goes well with a Bassman 115 Neo cab.
13. I'm doing really well with my Fender Bassman 500 head. It's putting out 500 Watts @ 4 ohms, going through a 4 ohms, 600 watts Ampeg SVT-212AV cab. This is a good half stack for my playing.
14. My Fender Standard Jazz in Arctic White / Maple. It plays great, and sounds great too.
15. I just acquired an Am. Pro. Fretless Jazz. Even the the new V-Mod pups, the improved tuning keys, and the decal changes, the Am. Std. head top, and the Am. Pro. head bottom, it sounds, and plays the same as the Am. Std. does. And the Pro. costs $150. Buckaroos more.
16. The only thing I can say about hearing it 50 years ago at it's release, I listened to it then, as I do now. And like as much as I did when I was 15. Thanks to THE BEATLES.
17. 50 Years ago today, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album was released. Where did all those 50 years go?
18. Try to find a Fender Pawn Shop Mustang. The Humbucking pup on them is a great setup on it.
19. I acquired a Fender Rumble 500 Combo today. A well put together amp, with a lot of good sounds from it. The twin Eminence 10's do well.
20.
The D'Addario tapewounds are perfect on a PJ, they go really well with that pickup configuration for some reason. I have them on my normal Precisions as well, but on a PJ they are particularly good. More so than flats, for me anyway.
I think some of the off sounds some players get with whatever type of strings, Nylons or whatever, isn't the sound from the strings, as much as either the settings on the amp, or the brand of the amp itself. I've found for my basses, Nylon strings, and the low bass tones I play, the Markbass amps work great for me. It may not be what other players are wanting, or needing, but it suits me just fine.
21. Very nice! Ric discontinued the Ruby finish. Hang on to that one. Very nice in the 4003S Ruby.
22.
Thanks for that. It's good to know whether the MIM versions of a bass can stand up alongside US made versions. It is of course, so often the case, but we don't always hear how good they are or how they compare..... If I was looking for a short scale bass atm, I'd really be considering one of these, especially as I'm a fan of P/J's. Cheers
For what I've seen of the Fender MIM's, they're a well made bass. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more Fender MIM's if I wanted, or need any more.
