You could try the Vox Pathfinder 10w which due to the 5" speakers has a more of a top end frequency response.

Glad you are liking short scales kevvo, they do get addictive. I have fitted all my short scales with Newtone Platinum Nickel on round core which have a nice tension (50 -110 gauge) and produce less finger noise due to the extra windings. If I was after something brighter I would probably try the same strings in stainless steel.

Sadly miss the Genz Benz Shuttle 3-8T which is probably one of the smallest combo's that could do a bass guitar justice. I don't really need any power just wanted a unit as small as possible so I've ordered a Vox Pathfinder 10B to see what that sounds like.

If anyone is looking for strings for short scale basses talk to Newtone, they will wind the scale length to suit. Great strings.

There seems to be a lot of respect for the Bugera heads on here and you could also look at the Ashdown Rootmaster 500 and 800.

Play my shortscales in a band that covers 60's to 2000's and have not found a style they can't cope with. They are lighter and easier to play than standard 34" scale length.

Your thinking is spot on RobF and definitely not stupid. I have done the same and now have 3 short scale basses, 2 x ACG and 1 highly modified Harley Benton P bass. I'd like to try and EBO one day.

I think all three were extremely interesting and thought that the conclusion of the guitar one was excellent i.e. guitarists have gone back to where it all started with Lse Paul and his wife and multi tape recorders etc😂.
