I practice in our spare bedroom and find that a Vox Pathfinder Bass 10 is more than enough. It has an auxillary input and also a headphone socket. If I need anymore there's my Promethian combo with 10" speaker (not found the need to use this one yet).

I use a Snark S-1 which has the fixed clip and display. It's always attached to the head stock as it's so small,. It responds well but, I don't have a 5'er so can't comment on it's performance on the B string.

A good diary and whatsapp is the way we keep track of everything and everyone.

I use Ashdown with my Two10, either an RM420 or Retroglide 800, and have also used Markbass (250 Blackline) which sounded good.

I agree with eude you don't really miss anything going short scale and always get comments about how good the bass sounds when playing live. I've got an ACG TKO with PB pickup and a modified Harley Benton with a Delano.

There is love for Ashdown on these shores. I have the Retroglide 800 and Rootmaster 420 heads.

I believe from comments in these forums that the Phil Jones gear is more modern sounding than what has been recommended in the thread. This is probably due the use of multiple small drivers.

Played a private party last night. Audience got up and danced after just a couple of numbers, we were asked to stay on longer than we were booked for but in fairness to the DJ we played an additional turn later in the night instead. Nice comments from the party attendees - bonus.

My set up is a Barefaced Two10 with either an Ashdown RM420 or Retroglide 800. Great flexibility and I've had some nice comments on the sound at gigs.
