  1. Interesting bass, looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
  2. I've got a Laney head (RB3?) in the garage must get it out and give it a whirl.
  3. Cracking build Andy, first class. Len must be chuffed.
  4. Eva Cassidy - Live at Blues Alley. An excellent live album and Eva's on top form with great playing from the band.
  5. Looking very nice Andy.
  6. If you search the internet for 'British made guitar straps' there are a number of manufacturers like this one which you could contact and ask if they could make you a fixed length version. https://www.barefootleather.co.uk/.../leather-guitar-straps
  7. We have a regular practice slot at a studio so we keep in touch via WhatsApp and if someone can't make it we will see if a change of day is possible or the available members decide if they want to carry on as normal. It's good that we are pretty relaxed as a band and appreciate each others commitments, so far in two years we've only missed a handful of practices.
  8. ACG if you do not already own one.
  9. Woodinblack, have a chat with the guys and Newtone strings. They can probably wind you a set and Alan fits their strings standard on the ACG basses.
  10. That's a nice one Sibob.
  11. Don't forget to add ACG basses made by Alan C of this very parish. We know them but need to spread the word.
  12. That album is just shear brilliance.
  13. It's a pity you have a 4 inline headstock as you could have tried my Status strings. What's the distance from ball end to tuner on the Jaguar?
  14. I have used Status short scale flatwounds which seemed pretty good.
  15. Update on my post - yep we are definitely better as a 4 piece without the old singer.
  16. Took the TKP to band practice last night, it plays like a dream and the pickup sounds terrific. A P bass with tone that looks stunning - what more could you ask for.
  17. I'll tell you tomorrow. Not a player but our singer left last week and the rhythm guitarist has offered to take on his duties.
  18. I started 'playing' in my late teens teaching myself from the archetypal tune a day book for a couple of years so my standard was very to poor to non existent. I stopped due to starting work and re-started at 44 and now at he age of 60 I play in a band. My level of playing is only fair but does the job and the enjoyment I get from have taken up the bass is enormous. Don't think about it just do it and if you need any support there are members on this forum are always prepared to help you out.
  19. Just sold my SWB-1 to Sid excellent transaction, great communication, great bloke. I have no hesitation about recommending him. Thanks Sid.
  20. Nice looking bass there Mr Paulhauser, just the right shade or red.
  21. Worthwhile cause Al Krow, well plugged.
  22. I used a pick a while ago and could not get on with it, but I think I going to have to persevere a little more.
  23. Thanks for all the complimentary replies guys. Alan does make exceedingly good guitars.
