  1. It's a 2004/2005 model if I remember. The finish is Bubinga. It's a cracking 5 string.
  2. Welcome Dan, I'm based down the road in Burntwood.
  3. Excellent choice. Spec details as per eude would be great if you don't mind rmcki.
  4. It had a good review in the Bass Guitar magazine a while back.
  5. 30.5" here due to the playability and weight. Don't think I lost anything but gained a lot moving down from 34".
  6. Currently have Delano's on the short scale P bass which are excellent and it's a bass you played when you were here Skezza.
  7. Hi Skezza, Have a chat with Andyjr1515 he is only in Derby.
  8. By the size of transformer in the bottom picture (unless it is an optical illusion) I agree with RandomBass.
  9. I think you may be right (as always) I can add extra or less distortion/modern sound via the DHA VT1 pedal and Ashdown Retroglide amp (via Barefaced Retro Two10).
  10. As you know ead this is for that passive TKO. I looked at the RFB on Alan's website but it does not look like he has included for the switch on the bass.
  11. Thanks ead, Is the tone range pretty wide from the Alnico version?
  12. Looking at a new short scale ACG with a PB pickup, could anybody tell me the differences in sound between the two magnet types? If you have a preferences for one or the other I would be glad to hear them.
  13. I'd go with ACG, great basses which can be customized to fit your needs including scale length. His pickups are also excellent.
  14. ACG 30.5" short scale bases are excellent so I would suggest having a chat with Alan Cringean.
  15. Thank you SpondonBassed and drTStingray I will carry out a few experiments with the aid of our guitarist. I will just have to take into account any additional distortion from the DHA VT1 valve 'output'.
  16. Low level is best, I have lost the high and part of the mid frequencies of my hearing.
  17. Got a Tanglewood (looks very much the same)acoustic bass myself. Excellent piece of kit, and good price GLWTS.
  18. It was rumoured Toyah and her band used practice in the old theatre in Cannock just before she launched into the charts. My works colleague has a photograph of himself taken with Toyah when she played the Robin Hood 2 in Bilston a few years ago. He said she was very polite and was happy to talk and mix with the audience.
  19. Do the comments above suggest that if you have an amp with passive and active inputs it does not really matter which one you use? I ask as I have an Ashdown Retroglide with both but run my passive bass through a DHA VT1 Spitfire and use the passive input. I don't get the indicator lamp lighting up as I keep the input level below the required threshold. Would there be any benefits to using the active input instead? Unfortunately I do have hearing loss so hence the question.
  20. Hi Tomm, Welcome to Basschat and thanks for explaining the reason behind the philosophy of the Stinger - very interesting.
